Don't expect to be able to keep this plugged in 24/7. On my server I never reboot, I've had it corrupt a drive twice forcing me to do a diskpart clean to get it back. Seems to be a common problem.
I've seen a handful of these RTL9210B enclosures around the sub 25 dollar range from SSK, Inateck, Fideco. I even saw another brand for less than 20 with an active coupon.
However, most of these enclosures I've noticed are the side out design.
I went with this enclosure over the other options due to this. Sabrent works better since the top lifts off and there is less potential of damaging the heat pad.
I have two of these and they've been very stable with several hours of active usage, but I haven't tested for 24/7 usage. I highly suggest updating the firmware right away to help fix any issues.

You can find the update firmware for the chipset here:
https://www.sabrent.com/download/ec-snve/

There are newer chipset firmware not from Sabrent, but I haven't tested those out yet. There is a thread on Anandtech forums about various chipsets version firmware and where to download them. It's a long thread, but it gives a lot of details about the RTL9210 chipset and the fixes the firmware versions have made.

Hope this helps!

I know that's what the amazon page is like, but might want to clarify that the SATA interface is also m.2 OP, might be a little confusing for those who don't know

Regular price is $27. Bought one a month ago. It's very nice, as these things go.

FYI: chipset is the Realtek RTL9210 (which is one of the, if not the, best chipsets out there).

Does the heat pad have adhesive on both sides? I plan to use this to swap m.2/nvmes for pc repair/recovery. Or should I be fine without the heat pad?

Can you use this with a usb c to lightning connector to directly offload from an iPhone?

Any Gen 3 nvme drive would pair nicely. My wife uses this enclosure with a 1TB SN550 Blue and it works fine. The newer 570 is a little faster for a few more bucks.

This is a really nice enclosure. I have a different one from Alxum and this one is easier to install drives.

This lets you swap drives and upgrade in the future. But if you don't plan to swap drives often the T7 is probably good enough.
