I played Far Cry 3, 4, 5, Primal and New Dawn, and can say 6 is the worst of the bunch. It just doesn't have the "feel" of a Far Cry game. Computer movement is limited, more cartoony than realistic, and there are product placements I just cant wrap my head around (theres a whole mission about helping Daniel Trejo and Trejo's tacos).
Having said that, it's good at this price point

The gameplay is literally the same as every other one in the series minus towers and the checkpoints are along roads instead of the middle of nowhere. It's fun but definitely gets repetitive. This series needs a massive overhaul with new mechanics and gameplay without making it a looter shooter.
Seriously most games are cheaper on PC why is this one so much more. No PC gamer is gonna buy it when the console version is cheaper just on principle.
Last ones i played were FC3 and FC4. How does this compare? Do i need to have played FC5?
Nah. There aren't many recurring themes in FC6. The story is a bit on the weak side but gameplay is similar.
My fave is FC4 with Troy Baker as the villain and an interesting story. FC5's story is not as strong but enjoyable with the Americana aspect, different (better to me) soundtrack, and the ability to use companions, which is the major difference. Otherwise, 4 and 5's gameplay is identical.
For reference, the first Far Cry I ever played was 4. I couldn't get through an hour of 6 due to the map layout and as someone mentioned weak storyline.
I don't play every far cry that gets released because they are so similar to each other in game play. With that said I've put a lot of hours into this one. I just enjoy it. And I am more into the story than I expected. It's definitely worth $20 if you want to play a pretty action game.
Great price but the reviews are not. Sounds like the game needs to be updated to be enjoyable.
It needs a better story and game play as well . Save your cash and put toward something you will play beyond 5 hours, which is about the time you realize the game is terrible.
Yes, yes it is. There is a reason every outlet has it on sale. Checkout Metacritic and you will see a rating between 3.6 and 4.7 depending on the system you play on.

Nice tip!! Will give it a shot. Have been annoyed the prices are different for PC due to the control of sales only through certain channels.
IMO it's nearly up there with FC3 as best in the series.
Maybe some Easter eggs or small references of that to previous games...but def don't need to play previous ones.
