Samyang's new 24-70mm F2.8 AF (Sony E Mount) lens is available through their site for $999.99 with a 10% discount code "OFF10" (noted on site's top banner).

Sale also did not include sales tax for me so it was $899.10 with free shipping.

Went with this lens over the Sigma due to not wanting to gamble with the dust issue.

Stores are showing them but not selling them yet. A few mom-and-pop stores have dribbled them out from an initial sample run, but that's irrelevant. You can't get this lens.

I was literally offered it for sale last Saturday so you can get this lens. Had it in hand, put it on my camera, took photos and could buy it if I wanted. I am very confused what part of my comment about that you don't get?

I feel like most people posting here are not taking any time at all to see what is out there on this lens. Check out the videos posted. The autofocus is lightning quick. I am always skeptical on these lenses but they always prove their value.

Focusing is just so so. May miss focus especially if you have someone running towards you.

Focusing and Sharpness is decent for an all in one but isn't as good as primes in general or even the tamron 70-180 or 35-150, though both are significantly more expensive.

I haven't had a chance to test it extensively since it's the dead of winter here and freezing cold and whatnot but for what I want it for it's good so far. I was sold from the test shots I did in the store alone. I mostly do landscape/real estate type photos so focusing quickly isn't a priority for me. I might go to NYC next month so I will have more of a chance to really test it out then. Just size-wise if you just want to run around with a camera with one lens and get nice photos, it's hard to beat this. I wish Tamron made a 16mm lens, then I could just take that and the 28-200 on trips.

Not sure if it was mentioned earlier in the thread, but Sony is heavily rumored to be releasing a mark 2 of their 24-70mm GM lens sometime this year. Not sure how it will influence the pricing of these 3rd party options.

I have the Tamron 28-200mm, and it's very convenient to use but not once have I looked back at one of my photos with that lens and been impressed with the imaging quality. I'm going to sell it.

I'd love to see a direct comparison of this Samyang vs the Sigma for sharpness and light transmission!

I think the stock is slowly arriving. I saw one in stock yesterday at Unique Photo. I just checked now and said out of stock but you can add to cart and shipping is in 5 days.
