Samyang's new 24-70mm F2.8 AF (Sony E Mount) lens is available through their site for $999.99 with a 10% discount code "OFF10" (noted on site's top banner).

Sale also did not include sales tax for me so it was $899.10 with free shipping.

Went with this lens over the Sigma due to not wanting to gamble with the dust issue.

This is a Pre-order, will ship when available. There are very few reviews but this one is quite in-depth:

On the 28-200 is it pretty good at quick focusing/sharp? I'm thinking about buying one as a present and I'm not great at this stuff. I've read a lot of reviews but was wondering real world usage.
Sharpness is nothing amazing, def much lower than the f/2.8 zooms, but most importantly is that it's sharp enough. Just depends what your expectations and needs are. I like it for walkaround and travel, and in pinch, it works fine for portraits. If I need critical sharpness, I bring out the Sigma.

I used to shoot the Tamron 28-75 which is much sharper than the 28-200, but I appreciate the extended range and versatility.

Focusing is just so so. May miss focus especially if you have someone running towards you.

Focusing and Sharpness is decent for an all in one but isn't as good as primes in general or even the tamron 70-180 or 35-150, though both are significantly more expensive.
Hmm I guess it's a lot more expensive but if it brings out the quality on the 35-150 hmm..

I haven't had a chance to test it extensively since it's the dead of winter here and freezing cold and whatnot but for what I want it for it's good so far. I was sold from the test shots I did in the store alone. I mostly do landscape/real estate type photos so focusing quickly isn't a priority for me. I might go to NYC next month so I will have more of a chance to really test it out then. Just size-wise if you just want to run around with a camera with one lens and get nice photos, it's hard to beat this. I wish Tamron made a 16mm lens, then I could just take that and the 28-200 on trips.
Thanks for the response. I'll keep this in mind but now I'm starting to look at the 35-150mm. I am one of those people who would rather buy it once then have to buy another one if they don't like it.

Interesting thank you for the insight. I'm not great at these things so all the insight from you all is very helpful to me.

No problem. AF is fine, nothing amazing, but more than fine, and it's sharp enough for most things. It's a wonderful little do-it-all lens.

I have an adapted Canon 16-35L for serious shots if need be so the 28-200 is exactly what I want and I think the photos look great. I print out a lot of my stuff over the years and some of my best photos are with a Sony a5100 with the kit lens and an A7II with the kit lens. One of my a5100 photos was good enough for Kayak to steal off of Flickr to use in their email ads. LOL
The 35-150 seems good but it's a heavy big boy, I even joked with the salesman that he must have handed me a Sigma by accident. I've owned enough cameras and lenses to know that if I have something like the 28-200 I'll probably grab the camera but if I have something like the 35-150 I probably won't. Also I have traveled enough to know that when I go to other countries or resorts etc once that lens gets to be a certain size the "are you paparazzi" questions start if they are nice or the downright nasty treatment starts if they aren't. Hopefully the 28-200 will fly under the radar.

I bought the Rokinon 24-70 F2.8 which is the US version of the Samyang. It's a hefty lens and you cannot compare it to the Tamron which starts at 28 but end at 75. That 4 mm missing on the wide end is a big deal while the extra 5 mm at the long end is not as important. The Rokinon/Samyang body is metal and the rings are smooth and tight. No lens creep. Tamron lens body is plastic. The only real comparison with non-native glass is the Sigma 24-70 F2.8. Due to the reviews on the Sigma mentioning dust problems, I pulled the trigger on the Rokinon after I saw Julia Trotti's review in December. I got it for 899 direct from Rokinon USA before Christmas sale. Same 10% off deal at the time. It's plenty sharp and renders really nice bokeh that I don't get with my Zeiss 24-70 F4. Autofocus is dead on and fast with my A7RIV. I don't shoot video so I can't comment on the parfocal feature. I also have the Sony 70-300 and 200-600 for wildlife and bird photography.

I own the Tamron 28-200 lens and it's a nice versatile lens. Lightweight and well balanced in the hands. I can extend the reach to 300 mm by using the crop shooting mode on the A7RIV and still have 26MP. The Tamron is a bargain when the price drop less than $700.

Now 2470 samyang is $682
