If you got a new or like new XR like most of us and it works fine. Then there is hardly any difference between XR and 11 plus you saved $125, so relax and just enjoy your phone!

XR for $125 is the most bang for the buck! I have been enjoying my XR for few days.
Yes, its like new or at least I can't figure out. The reason I was asking as I am going to give this phone to my kid. He is the only one in his group who doesn't have iPhone. Now I am thinking If I get new iPhone within $200 then I can replace my phone too Smilie. I know this is around $250 but as we go toward new iphone release it might come down or I will go for $250. Thanks for reply though.

Hi guys,

Got my XR today and it looks great. Was worried since it was originally activated on Jan 1, 2021 and warranty expired on Jan 1, 2022 :-( . Was about to refuse shipment. However, curiosity got the better of me :-)

That above said, the phone looks clean without any visible imperfections. Checked Truetone and Face ID are working as expected.

I am charging at this time and plan to make the IoS update tonight along with activating the SIM card(on TotalWireless.com site).

Will check more, however, it looks a like a good buy. Dont plan to dig too deep though!

Thanks a bunch, OP and everyone on this thread.
I have to ask why would you return it when it was sold as refurbished lol

Does such deals come often? How frequent are they? I would have gone for iphone 11 but I had already placed one order for XR before I found about this.
I can't spend another 250 on iPhone 11 this month. So just wondering. I know TW will not take back XR so I don't have any option except to keep it and use it.
People need to remember we have no idea if any of these deals will continue. VZ may be clearing out old stock to change the way they restructure future offers for TF/TW phones.
Hasn't been 2 months yet & no one really knows what they plan to do, the buying of TF companies specified they would continue providing service for users, not that they would still sell discounted phones.
(Look at how they do Visible's phone deals for example).

I'm talking about my own findings.
Nonetheless I did advise on deals being available often.
We just have to check SD or put an "alert" for it 🙂

Label printed on Friday, it was scanned in Louisville, KY at 2:43pm today, and claims it will arrive tomorrow by 9pm here in NH. I won't be surprised if that pushes out to Wednesday.

The phone gets locked to the 1st (TFW) sim inserted into the iPhone

AS OPPOSED TO:
using the sim that it gets shipped with.

Ppl don't know that the sim the iPhone (when brand new) comes with is a separate, CC szd card.
I recommend just using the sim the TW sim iPhone comes with. After the 60 day unlocking process you can then use any other sim
This is not accurate. I just tested it. I activated the included total wireless sim card and put it in the phone. Then I got my TracFone sim that was already activated with 2 years of service and it works fine in the phone. So the phone is locked to any Tracfone carrier and can move between them.

Yes!

Im advising to use the OG sim from TW for an easier unlocking process.
You can definitely move the Sims back and forth, but if you just wait for the iPhone to unlock then any sim will do.

Most older Sims don't qualify for the 60 day unlocking policy. So just to be safe we recommend just using the OG sim😬

I'd use the sim comes with phone to start the clock, then use rsim to unlock and use the phone for wherever you want, if Verizon's unlocking policy applies to TW, I know from my own experience that you don't have to use the phone for 60 days in order to unlock. I had Verizon iPhone that only used one day then start to use with other carrier, the phone will automatically unlock
Did you pay for 60 says of service though?

You've always been able to do that with already active sims (at least for a short time). Problems start when trying to activate another TF brand. Example - my old iPhone SE which was first activated with the original Simple Mobile sim ages ago will not let me re-activate it with a TF Verizon or TF ATT sim (says wrong network) but an already active TF sim on either network will work fine. It's locked to first activated sim, SM.

That's not locked to the SIM though, locked would mean I can't switch between TracFone carriers or switch to a different sim. You'd get an error just inserting the SIM.

The issue your describing is TracFone wants a virgin IMEI during activation that has never been activated before. I have unlocked and Verizon phones that were never TracFone phones, I have activatd them once on TracFone, but if I ever try to activate them again with a new sim on TracFone, it doesn't work. I've had that issue for years with any phone that has been activated on TracFone more than once. I've had to call support every time to get one of those phones to reactivate.

Still no update. Order placed on 1/12. This is absurd. I called and they are assigning a ticket to the order.
