Looks like someone at HoFo with a new (non-refurb) Motorola Optimo Maxx got a 60 days unlock, so there is "auto unlock" as advertised.

As oregon14 said we'll need a week or so more for more data points to come in (especially the refurb cases like the XR) but it's a good sign nevertheless.
Did they maintain active service for 60 days, or only part of this time?

Active. It was an HSN bundle, so likely came with one-year service, but the poster also said transferred from another phone.

Can u please point to what previous deal with scratch off you are referring to?
As someone else mentioned, it was years ago. These prepaid companies would sell cheap iPhones and include scratch offs with different values such as $25, $35 etc. I guess they noticed that people were not activating those numbers and selling them so they smartened up and started shipping the refurb phones with the SIM card preloaded with values such as $25

Many people would sell those scratch offs for like $5 or $10 off. I kept mine.

Now if only I could remember where I placed some SIM cards and the red inserts. I have about 3 of these cheap iPhones that I never activated and would like to activate and hope they unlock themselves after 60 days.

I bought this phone and activated sim, but want to give this to my friend and I want to keep the number. If they have tracfone can they just pop their sim in even though I will use the phone number with another device? I know the phones are locked to total wireless , but do they work on all tracfone brands?

In my experience it will work. If they have a Verizon Tracfone SIM Voicemail may not work correctly and APNs may need to be set manually. Tracfone CS would have to update the IMEI on the account to get it working without workarounds.

I believe it won't work unless some intervention at customer service or you need to switch to another SIM altogether. If I understand correctly VZ Tranfone SIMs are married to the phones.

If I take this total wireless iPhone 11 to another country (where there is no total wireless) soon after buy but have the account/service active for 60 days, is the phone still eligible for unlock? Asking for a friend. TIA

Likely ok, however I heard the unlock won't happen until you put back in the Tracfone SIM and the phone has to be able to reach the Tracfone network, meaning it has to be within USA.

If phone is unopened and I use active sim in another phone, can I sell or give away and somebody else can activate On tracfone or total wireless?

That SIM is married to this iPhone, you can't use it elsewhere I believe.

I think so. So that person will just get another Tracfone SIM to marry to this phone.

It looks like now 15% discount has started with auto apply when we click on Join now.
That is why people are asking for coupon code. And if used once, no one else is able to access the same code.
You didn't bother to take in what I told you. And act on it. Read my former post to you again.

Dude, nice work here. But at this point, why not encourage people to learn to fish for themselves instead of being spoon fed? i.e. PM (or direct them) how to do it themselves, vs. just sending them a code?
That's not the SD way. Asking same questions/requests and then spoonfeeding is how things get done around here.

Can't be more wrong. Where would SD be if we were all being spoonfed? Nobody would have figured out how to generate the codes. . .which the instructions of how to do so were mentioned what 12 or so pages back BTW. .takes all of 2 minutes to do yourself. . .and then proper credit could then be given to them instead of the spoonfeeder who is doing this for rep points The SD way is to rep the person in the thread with the NEW idea that helps all, and shun those that reap the benifits in same thread from other's original ideas. . .so that someone with actual ingenuity in the future is more likely to share some NEW insight. . .

This isn't a thread dependent of say T-mobile employees supplying an employee code for you to get what you want.

I do not believe it's possible to do w/o accessing browser on a PC, which I lot of people don't anymore.

Yeah, the app has some shortcomings. But is also the users, as this could be done on most any device in desktop mode.
