Anyone run into issues messing up the TW unlock 60 day clock by using a RSIM13 unlock card? Bought two Xrs and an an 11, activated with included TW SIMs, then used an RSIM13 from eBay to SIM unlock so they could be used with Visible right away. All three work well, but now are listed as "inactive" on my TW account page. I'm new to RSIM13 unlocking and am wondering what issues I might be setting myself up for. Any tips?
Did you let the service lapse? I'm thinking that TW could possibly show them as "inactive" due to no active service and might show up that way even if you didn't use an RSIM?

I'm surprised not that many reports of unlocking here.. We were all waiting for a bunch of people reporting auto unlocks right around the 23rd last month.
The policy change wasn't noticed by SD until weeks later, and it's not like everyone who did it 11/23 would jump on to the internet and report it all over the place either.

You won't see that much of data points on SD until end of February.

No, I did not let the service lapse. I did try to "backtrack" and reset/erased the 11 I have ( I can wait the 60 days for an unlock from TW if needed - I just got a little impatient) and added the TW SIM back in to it. It works as it should for phone and data. However, my TW homepage is still telling me to reactivate the device, even though the original SIM I activated and phone number work. I'm not sure how to proceed on this as I don't want to muddy the waters any more.

For February, two Total Wireless games are back to earn points - Scratch-to-win and Spin-the-wheel. The most I have won at one time was 2000 points playing Spin-to-win. In the two years I have been with them I believe I have earned enough points playing the daily games (when available) to redeem points for the $100 multi line plan twice. Free is free.

I love to hear parents save money.
I'm now old enough to buy all the darn iPhones my parents could not afford to buy for me when I was a kid 😒

Guess what?

These phones are a great alternative to hand held devices such as the nintendo switch 😬 cause of the size, and the durability of the battery these have 🙂 good purchase for the kiddo

Yeah, I was thinking of doing the same thing with an RSIM, but haven't so far. Curious to see how it turns out. You never know … it might just pop back up as showing active after it has the original sim back in for a while.

When it's a new phone the $25 are not loaded into the iPhone.
That's only the case for the refurbished phones.

Your $25 is already loaded with the iphone. You can delay the activation till you see a deal. If you are going to trade-in the iphone then you dont have much choice.

Not sure how it is so since when I got new phone it also came with red activation paper with imei of the phone and SIM card number on it inside small pack). Yes the phone box was sealed but that didn't matter since the plan on the sim was already tied to phone so it's same as refurbs the only difference you have to physically open the box and insert the sim from small pack that is attached to the back of box while refurbs have them inside the phone already.

Right, so you can always use that sim with any other TW compatible phone. And vice versa 🤷🏻 ♀️

I only used the TF SIM never opened the TW sim pack
Your iphone will work (for a while) but it will not unlock if you just put an active TF sim in it since sim is not linked to the phone IMEI & could cause issues with phone it actually came from as well.
Users have reported getting notified sim was in wrong phone & VZ/TF requested it be put back in original phone - sim is supposed to match registered IMEI of phone.
In order to unlock at 60 days it's my understanding you need to activate the original sim. I bought a Straight Talk iPhone 12 Mini & activated original ST sim on TF (as a TF) 11/30, got it auto unlocked Monday (after adding additional service time).

So I messed up and actually transferred my number to the IMEI of the phone. Now it's activated with the current TF sim instead of the TW sim it came with.

Am I screwed or what? Also, did TF change their website layout recently??
Not sure if you've screwed up or not, but I would've activated the TW sim on TF as a TF. It's what I just did with my ST 12 Mini & TW 11. I've also done it that way in the past with other iPhones.
If you plan on unlocking the phone I think I'd call the Unlocking Dept & see what they say, maybe since VZ/TF changed the time for unlocking they've changed the way they qualify new phones and (hopefully) just linking a sim with phone IMEI and having service is enough.

Can you wait to activate service for 2 months ?

It seems you can even purchase without any plan. Would it be possible to buy a sim/plan at a later date and then activate and get it unlocked ?

Yes, for new iPhone 11, looks like a "no plan" option got added. If you will use TF family SIM or RSIM, no need to purchase a plan. Many SDers purchase plan just for unlock.
