"The most magical thing just happened guys. Today I woke up to a "No SIM Restriction" on a Verizon iPhone 13. So they do definitely unlock it automatically on the 60th day. I still have the Verizon line but it's in a "voluntary suspended )$10 a month)" status because I wanted to make sure it would unlock and I still had a line (I don't think keeping a line is necessary btw, I was just being extra cautious). All good. Everything turned out ok to my surprise!"

It seems you can even purchase without any plan. Would it be possible to buy a sim/plan at a later date and then activate and get it unlocked ?
I checked with customer service that the plan does not expire but sim might but 90 days is a safe bet
If you plan on unlocking the phone I think I'd call the Unlocking Dept & see what they say, maybe since VZ/TF changed the time for unlocking they've changed the way they qualify new phones and (hopefully) just linking a sim with phone IMEI and having service is enough.
I will try asking if I can activate the original SIM into the iPhone and see what happens. Great.
You can use that phone with another sim but that might create a mess on that sim account as some reported after some time passes so I think the safest thing is to activate the plan it comes with and after 60 days of service and unlock, then try adding it to a different account/carrier/sim through website dashboard if it allows it so instead of just inserting that sim in.
Because it's under same carrier Apple servers won't reject the sim but then with carrier it might be a different story even if it accepts it initially.

You can too use the sim with any other TF devise, I've done it before. This is not my 1st iPhone post.
afaik you can't do that with TF, that you activated the SIM on iphone A, take it out and put it in iphone B and expect it to work automatic w/o going through customer service.

All 3 have the same unlocking policy, so either way it's 60 days.

so in the case of that particular new iphone 11 with the SIM in the outside porch, i believe the $25 is already loaded to that SIM and I'm not sure if it's tied to that iphone 11 yet. but if someone activated the plan on that iphone 11 then that SIM is definitely not useable on any other phone anymore.

I have a TF sim that's 1yr w/ 1.5 k txt and mns. that I often switch between my TF iPhone and TW Phone.
Or vice versa really, except that TW does not offer 1yr plans for $40-$50 like TF

plus like I said the plan is not glue to the iPhone, that's all I'm. It asking the user to swap, even if others have been successful 🤷🏻 ♀️
So it "works" for you, great. But definitely not the correct way. There are well-documented cases where things got messed up afterwards if you search around.
