Thread Details
Today marks a milestone on a multi month project to improve the ways Slickdeals benefits your shopping and saving. Starting last summer, many community members new and old came together to provide feedback on opportunities to improve the Slickdeals homepage.
This past November, community members tested various design options. Community members shared over 9,000 feedback submissions. Today, Slickdeals deployed the first in a series of updates that will result in an evolution of the Slickdeals homepage.
Starting today, the homepage consists of three collections of deals, Frontpage deals (the best of the best), Popular deals (the rising stars), and For You (a personalized set of deals that reflect the categories that you care about most).
In the coming months you will see many more features layered onto this foundation including view mode options like dark mode and list mode. You will see options to filter and sort the deals. When the full feature set deploys by this summer, the community should find more savings, more often, more easily.
No doubt change is frustrating. It is even more frustrating when the change hits every few weeks. Why not just depoy when all the aforementioned features are ready? Because then the team might fall too far afield of a better community experience. In the coming weeks the team will continue to make tweaks and adjustments to the plan and the priorities based on your vocal feedback. Thank you for the 9,000 pieces of feedback already submitted and the 9,000 to come.
In the short run, four groups of community members will not join the transition journey:

In the short run, four groups of community members will not join the transition journey:
- Community members using the Classic version of Slickdeals.
- Community members with the Slickdeals Extension installed.
- Community members using simple or list view before the test started.
- Community members with a "dislike" category preference set prior to November.

Instead, half the time it's a "customized" just for you "deals" and I have to manually click front page deals.
These changes suck. I've already stopped looking as much.

I guess users / customers hate change but users/customers do not understand about keeping up with the newer technologies so that it can be better and easier maintained in the future.
as a techie I am excited for new changes, and happy to hear that you guys are actively making the website newer, better, and keeping up with the technologies.
as an user, I do hope the new page will have the an updated list/simple view in the future.
thank you SlickDeals.

thank you SlickDeals.
If I must attach SD extension to have a regular we can always look elsewhere.
Same deals on many sites. It's the format and the feedback that make SD the best.
