From other people hiding them or the Mgt removing them from the floor? I have been the first customer on sunday morning twice with ZERO on the shelf. The mgt is very evasive when you ask, like they are guilty.

It works just like a debit card. Usually you can pay any remaining balance with another card.

What's the benefit of buying these? Why is $200 for a $200 gift card a deal?

Come on 2008 slickdealer.. you should know by now that there's churning, manufactured spend, and credit card cash back.

Where else can you get 1:1 money ? Normally there's fee for visa/mc gift cards

My local staples in So Cal stack these behind the cashier before the ad start, so instead of go to the usual rack, i just tell the cashier to grab some for me LOL

It is a deal when you need to meet minimum spend for a credit card signup bonus.

5% cashback on some cards make these a MM. These were easier to turn back in to cash many years ago. A lot harder now.

Still a MM regardless.

FAQ's:
- No, you cannot use Staples GC's to purchase these.
- No, these do not count towards your spend requirements for a premier membership.
- No, these do not earn you any Staples rewards.
- No, you cannot use coupons/ rewards to purchase these GC's.
- Yes, you can split payment between multiple cards (if your cashier permits it) YMMV
- The limit of 5 may or may not be enforced depending on your store/ cashier. YMMV
- Why is this a deal? Some members have CC's that earn 5% CB at office supply stores (INK and Amex Simply Cash). Others need to meet minimum CC spend.
- What if my store doesnt accept payment with a CC? Your store likely has had issues with fraud and it is managers discretion on what payment they will accept.
- Other chase cards may have special offers for Staples ($ limited). Check your chase account under chase offers.

The best aspect of this deal is that it seems it will trigger the $30 rewards bonus from this deal:
https://slickdeals.net/f/15564073-staples-30-back-via-store-bonus-when-you-spend-100-or-more-between-01-16-22-and-01-22-22?v=1&src=SiteSearch
That is a brand new type of promotion, so I don't think anyone can be sure, including Staples support reps.

rastaman32, what do you think? You have long been the voice of wisdom regarding Staples. Thanks in advance.
