I'm pretty sure that device can be swapped once activated and the plan itself costs around $40 on sale. I have similar set up for my kid as emergency while he's in school. Doesn't spoil them with unlimited data and not fancy enough to play games or show off so he can stay focused on learning lol.
I am always new to HSN!
I activated the Samsung A11 yesterday as a new Tracfone account. Upon activation they sent the following text, which states 60 days:
Hi there, a quick update from Tracfone.
We have an updated unlocking policy. You can check it here http://tf-w.co/NZyp2bR

For those signing up for tracfone service, don't forget to sign up for their rewards program using a ref erral. You can easily convert the initial points earned to service credits...at least 2 to 3 months free service depending on points earned.

You're right about the customer service but if you can get around their website and make sure that it's up and going correctly, this type of service is for people that don't use the phone as much and that don't have a lot of resources either!

Most people text a lot and you can buy a thousand texts for $5!
can i use this in my tmobile unlocked phone? i just need sim card and text/data/calls

Read a few post back and it'll let you know that yes it can be done but you will have to activate the new phone and then go by a department store and pick up a byop Sim kit and select which carrier you want as far as Verizon T-Mobile or AT&T and put the SIM card enter your unlocked T-Mobile phone and activate the card in your tracfone account and do a transfer to it where you keep your telephone number.

Yeah I wonder if they let me put my signature here where I can get referrals with helping you out!

2gb ram vs 3gb… is the core speed offset by ram limiting what apps can run?
2GB of RAM is enough for most applications. The extra RAM allows you to run more applications simultaneously. But it shouldn't matter much if you plan to run a few apps at a time.

If I want to activate the phone service after 6 months, can I use the phone just wifi at home for Youtube etc for 6 months before I activate the phone? If so, how? I wonder if I power on the phone it will automatically reach to the cell tower then activate/register the phone.
Thanks!

Slick deals has a strict policy of no referral codes here. For this particular deal referral is pretty lucrative to both the referring person and the person being referred and doesn't change the purchase at all (it all happens on activation) so the policy doesn't make sense but their forum their rules.

You have to activate the phone for it to work so yes you can use it as a Wi-Fi tablet!!

So we help sale deals make a sell with all our knowledge but they're not willing to help us out at all? Seems kind of backwards to me that everyone handshakes each other and helps everyone out!

Whats an emergency phone?
The only time I'd need an "emergency phone" is when I'm driving, the battery for my primary phone is out of juice, silly me forgot to bring the charger along, and I need GPS to show where I'm going. Otherwise, theoretically, any phone can dial 911 even if there is no service plan on it. Here are some good ideas for getting a cheap phone with service:
- Great for kids (or others) who would otherwise have no phone. (This is not for kids who already have unlimited plan on the most current version of the iphone.)
- A phone used as a GPS. (Using GPS drains my phone battery.)
- A backup phone to call out in case the primary phone cannot be used for whatever reason, and no one else in the household has a phone.
- Alternative low-cost lojack.
- After the service ends (or before), the phone can be "repurposed" for other things when connected via wifi.

If a backup car and house cost me $30/year it would be a no brainer. My backup car costs me thousands a year and a backup house, which I don't yet have, tens of thousands.

Yes on the latter (email, use gmail trick). Likely no on the former (cc).

Doesn't HSN also track the phone number? That was my experience about 2 years ago - if same phone number, it wasn't a new account.
