Sony for:
- Size
- Darker rooms
- Better sound
- PS5

Samsung for:
- Brighter rooms
- Need for viewing at wide angles
- Better UI
- XboxSX

Both are really good choices and I think it mostly comes down to the location you will put it in. Light in room, how far your seats are from the TV, what angle from the TV, etc.

Can you clarify why one is better for the PS5 and the other better for XboxSX?

Interesting why nobody is talking about Samsung TV Plus. It is an important free asset available on Samsung TVs.

I still feel good about my 65" I picked up for $1,499 at Costco with 7-year warranty using Costco card.
Isn't the total warranty for 5 years?

Samsung TV plus seems like a good freebie. It came with a 32" monitor I got from Costco last week. However, on the home page, I am unable to rearrange the list of apps at the bottom, even if I have moved some apps using the App Settings.

This doesn't support Dolby Vision. Esp since content providers such as Netflix only support HDR and DV, but not HDR10+ and even devices such as Apple TV are the same (no HDR10+). So shouldn't that also be a factor when purchasing a TV at this price range? Thanks

Poster above is correct...biggest difference I can see is the qn90 has the one connect box. Supposedly brightness is higher on the 90 also, but 85 is eye searingly bright already.

I went to local best buy and was able to compare them next to each other love...I genuinely couldn't spot any differences. Even the bezel/materials are identical. I couldn't get to the back of either to see what differences if any were there.

The QN90 has an updated processor and slightly better speakers. Neither of those were important to me so I got the 85" QN85. The picture is amazing....my only quibble is the glare on the screen is pretty bad during dark scenes. Even the smallest light in my kitchen (next to my living room where the TV is) reflects off the screen. (again only noticeable during dark scenes)

Which deal and when were you able to get this? Hopefully you were one of the lucky ones during BF.

No great deal…I paid $3200 at the Navy Exchange….the black levels are almost as good as OLED.

Where do you see additional 2 years if paid by Costco CC? I'm unable to find the info. 7 years warranty seems to be a great deal.

Does Costco offer an extended warranty on products?
We offer our members three ways to extend their warranty on many of the products sold at Costco:
Through Costco Concierge Services - applicable items are automatically enrolled in an extended warranty up to 2 years from the date of purchase.
Purchasing extended warranty coverage through Allstate Protection Plans.
Using your Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi for the purchase. For more information, visit:
Consumer Cards
Business Cards
Or, call 1-866-918-4670

Use all three and get up to 7 years* of warranty coverage on qualifying products!

*For example, if you purchase a television using a Costco Anywhere Visa® Card for the transaction and also purchase an Allstate Protection Plan, the total warranty coverage is 7 years (the first 2 years through Costco Concierge, the following 3 covered by Allstate, and the final 2 years covered through Citibank). Please see each warranty for specific coverage terms.

These are just some of the benefits of membership - Thank you for being a Costco Member!
