Since it is not in the original post, this is a very good wood glue.

Careful to those buying - 1) Keep this stuff indoors. 2) It wont keep forever.

Contrary to a couple other comments, I've been impressed how well TB3 works completely exposed outdoors. Made a gate that is fully sun/rain exposed and seems to be holding up fine.

Unless you're looking for something that will be exposed to moiture you're wasting your money.
The quick set up time of III is also a nice feature for a lot of projects (of course in some cases you want a longer working time and I is better for that). I've found III to be generally much stronger bond too, but that is just anecdotal, not sure if it is true across the board. I used it to glue up MDF once and had to break it apart a couple hours later, it broke everywhere except the glue seam.

Honestly I haven't found any reason to use I in years - I exclusively use III now. Long working time isn't something I've ever needed....

I thought of that exact same example but left it alone since mortar is not the same as glue and I don't really know.

Mine lasted less than 4 years and I made sure to keep the lid on it and that it was sealed well. Maybe you are on to something with the shaking.
Yeah I guess it may or may not be a good comparison but I'm old enough to have some old fart wisdom at this point and generally speaking, attempting to re-activate or dilute just about anything that has started to set never works as well as when it was original, even adding thinner to paint that has started to thicken from age.

4 years is pretty good for any wood glue. I'm sure the shaking and keeping it in the basement (pretty consistent temp year round) helps but the big thing is minimizing the air and moisture exposure, closing it tight as soon as possible etc. Mine is 1/4 full at this point - the very top has some dried/discolored stuff but the stuff in the bottom is still like new. That bottle only gets used occasionally and typically just to run a single bead then close it right after so I'm sure that is a lot to do with it.

I also learned the trick from my father (carpenter) decades ago that when you close wood glue let the stuff that comes out stay there and dry, seals it tight and breaks off easy next time you open it.

I'm worried they're expired, or close to it.

Titebond III is great, but it goes bad fast! I made the mistake of buying several gallons at $20 each, but they all went bad within the year. Lumpy, and smelled like death.

Check the date code on your bottle before you buy.
Someone mentioned theirs had a date of June 2021 so you still have 18 months of "shelf life", most likely much longer on bottles you don't open and keep at room temp.

Surprised that sealed 1 gallon containers went bad that quick. Maybe they froze at some point (perhaps on the truck or in the store before you got them) or were very old stock when you got them.

Obviously anyone looking for this - check in with the 8oz (non 25% free) bottles - may be mixed in.

Always good to check end caps, over by the pro desk, etc for special displays too, obviously this was a promotion, most likely for black friday/xmas, so there was probably a special display for it. May be in one of the clearance sections too.

Overhead area, and someone mentioned near the moldings area too. It's always a hunt for Lowe's clearance stuff. Of course if you don't need a bunch of it, may not be worth the effort to search around to save a couple bucks on one or two bottles.

Yeah, I was shocked. They were actually a year into their shelf life, so 2 years seemed to be that magic number.

Titebond 2 seems to be eternal... the 3... not so much. I keep it in a 72f-75f environment, so it mightve been a temperature issue where I ordered it from. But the 2 year date on every smaller bottle of T3 I have has been pretty much withing a month or two of the date, and it would start to curdle like milk. I'd do the flip thing, and it didn't seem to change the lifespan.

One thing I know for certain... don't buy a lifetime supply of T3 lol. That's on me! Lesson learned. Lol.

Protip: When I open a glue bottle (or any bottle/can of curing agents like paint, glue, lacquer, acetone, etc) I always put a thin piece of silicone rubber over the spout then close it up just to make certain its airtight. The silicone shouldn't alter it in anyway if it's platinum cured, and it is reusable. However, it can turn color. Say I have it covering a bottle of blue wood dye, the dye will dye the silicone.

Gonna hit up a lowes by me in the morning that shows they have a bunch. I actually bought a bottle of this on "clearance" at $2 a couple of weeks ago and that display was in the moulding section. I'll go ahead and buy quite a bit. If it curdles before I use it, no biggie because I'm not out much.

Yes, buy Titebond Original at $2.38 per bottle instead of $.29 for Titebond III to save money....
Obviously that's not what I meant but feel free to act in a manner I'm sure you're accustomed to.

I was able to get a Lowes to check for me and adjust down from full price.
They weren't with the other glue products. A worker found them for me in the tool area. I got 3 and could have emptied their stock but others may need a glue deal as well.

PS Two Lowes workers were first to mention SD to me and one was also familiar with brickseek. Guess the odds of me scoring lower inventory level deals on SD is dwindling.

It's being clearanced by Lowe's. This is the "bonus" 25% more bottle.
Same size has disappeared from shelves at Home Depot recently as well. Wonder if they're changing the packaging?

found 69 of them for 29 cents at a lowes about 30 minutes away. Not sure i would use enough to justify driving that far to buy some.
Would justify the trip if you bought them all.
