For those less savvy folks out there, "lift start" is not the preferred method of initiating an ARC, that would be High Frequency start. Having "lift start" only would pretty much make this thing only good for steel.
Great for home use, unlike my Miller Dynasty 300DX.
However, if you want the bewt damn MP under 5K grab a ESAB Rebel.
They make novices look like pros. Honestly these are so easy to weld with, some trade schools won't buy them.
The 215ic is $2500 and can do amazing work.

I bought a PowerTig 250EX, years ago and was never able to get stable arcs. Delivery from Everlast took months and I was billed when I ordered it. Everlast would not send a replacement and wanted me to set up tech support that was only available during my work hours. All the "upgraded accessories" I was supposed to get by ordering from them instead of Amazon were really cheesy and not comparable to any name brand accessories.
I was so disappointed in the machine that I threw it under the shelf for years and used other welders. I pulled it out again last year to see if I could get it to work and while tweaking settings it Popped loudly and will not even stick weld anymore. I'm out of warranty now. The boards on these are a handmade mess. I'm not sure it's even worth my time to troubleshoot and repair.
There are lots of positive (likely paid) reviews for these, but if you do some searching you will find lots of people with heavy metal bricks or issues welding with them. They have had various issues with failures over different manufacturing changes. It doesn't seem like they ever really do quality testing after a manufacturing change and have to go back and replace boards or components after they determine they have a bad batch of parts in a production run.
If you buy one, definitely use a credit card and you would be better off buying from amazon so you can just return if you get a non-functional unit. I recommend spending a little more for a major brand even if they don't come with accessories. You will not be happy with the accessories that come with this and will want to replace the torch and pedal for sure.
