I have a T440. Dropped from the 2nd floor and still working. Just need to replace the battery.
Nice! I have a t30U, since 2016, that crap is still working like a champ. Best investment ever, got me through everything.... I hope Lenovo hasn't decreased their quality, I hear that they started making batteries less replaceable which is sad, but that's from Louis Rossman on YouTube! Hopefully that isn't true! My battery also needs to be replaced ;
Just returned this laptop, fans had an annoying click on slower speeds, seems to be common. Gonna wait and see if the 2022 version is any better. That one is gonna have a webcam too. Unfortunately it's dual AMD instead of Nvidia AMD combo.
Not sure why all the hate (mostly from people who don't own one). Like all laptops, this one has its pros and cons.
I own the 2020 version (Ryzen 9/4900hs, RTX 2060, 1TB). Overall I would give it a 4 out of 5. Pros
Form factor - it is light, not too large, and doesn't look like the gaming powerhouse that it is. I am not a young man, I like the 'gray man' look to this laptop. I realize that this is subjective, so YMMV.
Performance
Keyboard (with the exception of the backlighting)
Noise. When not gaming, the laptop is silent
Temp. Again, when not gaming, the laptop remains cool to the touch Cons
Keyboard backlighting leaves something to be desired. I type by touch so not a huge deal for me. I believe this was fixed in later models.
Noise and temp when gaming. I use an external keyboard, mouse and monitors when gaming but this laptop is loud and gets seriously hot to the touch when doing 3D gaming.
Speakers sound blown when volume is high. This is annoying.
I had a rattling fan that Best Buy repaired. Indicates some QC issues perhaps. It's all better now.
Regarding the webcam. This is a $1200+ laptop. I bought a sub $60 webcam which is better than any laptop installed webcam. I use the laptop for my master's program. Many of my classes are via Zoom so the high quality external webcam is something I would probably use even if the laptop had an integral webcam due to its better quality.

That's under manufacturer warranty, which Best Buy will honor.
