Same here, just hide them in the toolbox. I bought the Ridgid 6-mode during BF and always wanted the stubby but I don't need any more batteries. Going to wait for a tool only sale. I think tool only is around $130ish.

For the DeWalt people check out the new DCF921B, same form factor as the M18 stubby but rated higher specs. There are a couple Dyno runs in comparison on YouTube. If you go for the current deal with the battery and return the battery gift, you should be able to get the tool for $113.

Not quite as nice as the one that included 3 & 6Ah batteries instead of the 2 & 4Ah ones in this kit, for $189 on BF then $199 thereafter, but still very nice. The tool alone is $179 so this is quite the deal with the 2 batteries, charger and case for just $10 more.

If you've been thinking of getting either the 3/8" or 1/2" version of this, BUY THIS NOW. You won't see a better deal except maybe one with the 3/6Ah batteries and who knows when that will come back again, if ever. These are really nice impact wrenches and widely seen as the best all-around ones made today.

If you're more in the DeWalt camp, though, they recently came out with their own version of a stubby impact that's probably just as good. But no comparable deals.
Wait for the BF sale to come back

That probably won't happen until July or the BF 2022.

I bought the 3.8 stubby with 2 and 4ah battery for the same $189. It's been a fantastic buy for me. I bought the Bosch Freak 1/2 anvil with hex impact t drill insert for $89 that came with the 4mah 18v battery and charger. The stubby is still more powerful with its 4mah battery, plus it's smaller, lighter and less cumbersome. I regret getting the Bosch as it's just sitting in my tool box rotting away. I love my new stubby and look forward to a deal on the 3/8 ratchet ( non fuel)

Or wait for the $89 3 & 6Ah battery, charger & case deal that comes around every now and then. The BF deal is pretty rare.

I had to return this from the last sale about a month ago. It kept making a high-pitched ringing when I pulled the trigger before the actuation point. Couldn't find an answer online as to why it was making that noise.

U get what you pay for. Not saying ridgid isn't good but the nut busting torque rating on the milwaukee is as good as its advertised. There is a YouTube comparison of it against 6 other brands and it outdid all of them.

I own this one and the stubby 1/2 M18 for larger more stubborn jobs and haven't been disappointed.

Edit: if you don't do a ton of automotive work that requires high torque then the ridgid is a good deal. I am a hobbyist that tinkers with cars often enough to need the most I can get out of these tools so the milwaukee was a wise choice.
I have a set of M18 tools already. I am debating if I want to add M12 to this or should I go for the same M18 version to keep everything on the same batteries? I have the 8.0 battery for the pole saw/ weed whacker which absolutely slaps. I did notice my existing 2 chargers for the M18's also have slots for the M12s.

Also which one would I get the most use out of from the 1/2 inch or 3/8 inch? I feel like 3/8 but I will be swapping my snow tires on and off in the future which probably means 1/2 inch.

I tried to loosen lug nuts on 3 cars so far and 3/8" impact failed at all three. It was able to loosen lug nuts a week later after a fresh 90 ft-lbs tightening though. I also have m12 right angle wrench and not impressed with that one either.

If you only need an impact wrench then I guess this is good. But for $90 more I got this same exact thing with the fuel drill and impact driver which IMHO is a better deal (again if you want a drill & ID)

I bought this last sale specifically for lug nuts. It zipped off all during wheel change with 2.0 battery. For my use it's perfect combined with the clearanced husky 3/8 impact socket set. This car has under 80ftlb lugs though.
