Would you guys recommend 4k or 5k for general use?
All personal preference really. 4K is very pleasant on the eye, but 5K is more color neutral. For general use, I like 5K tint better.

You can get the PRO for like 5 or 6 bucks more direct from Sofrin. I have it great lite. Wish it could act a USB power bank tho
Pro advantage is almost unnoticeable. I have it too. I don't recommend it unless same price.

I like 4K personally, it not too glaring like 5000K or 6500K (this is even worse) and the higher K gives me the feeling of less lumens.

I recommend the 4K. The tint is nicer.

what fiasco?
They said they made a mistake in their shipping costs, and then emailed everyone to ask them to PayPal them more money or offered to send a lower quality light for the same price. Then they accidentally leaked everyone's emails and names publicly.

It's pretty much been posted at this price (+/-$3) every month for a year.

Great flashlight, great UI, great tint in 4000k with high CRI.

The bad: This should be it's standard price. Sofrin are notorious shills. They pay people the cost of the flashlight to review it and not divulge it's a paid review. They've reached out to me no fewer than twenty times due to my history of flashlight reviews. Again great flashlights but shady business practices.

I own around 10 sofrin lights including their lanterns.

I hadn't heard about the leaked emails and names, where did you see that?

Would you recommend 4k or 5k version? Are they comparable in CRI and lumen output?

Is this the same as the small sofren. When It gets hot within 20 seconds or so on high, it automatic dims itself, I constantly have to adjust the brightness on the small one and hate it….u can't have it on high for long
It's a high output flashlight. It will ramp down based on temperature as it's designed to do. There's plenty of flashlights out there that will give you lower output for longer. Or you can turn on a light like this on the lower settings to run longer.
