Completely optional. Unless you're cutting full length sheets of plywood on a regular basis or building high end quality furniture and already have a substantial workshop setup (including a planar and jointer to make all your stock square to begin with), you really don't need this.
Honestly it might not even work with a smaller saw. You need a pretty hefty rip fence for these to mount properly. Even with my cabinet-style table saw the fit was pretty tight. My older contractor style saw's rip fence would not have fit it.

These are nice, but absolutely not a necessity, in general.

I suppose the benefit of this is it pushes the stock towards the fence instead of just down like a feather board. Is that right?

Correct. The wheels are biased to slightly push towards the fence, and obviously downward. They work VERY well. The only downside I have with them is that sometimes they're awkward to use with push sticks, so plan accordingly, but they really do help ensure great contact of the piece against the rip fence throughout the cut.

Can someone with experience comment on the importance of this item for the hobbyist using a Skil/Dewalt type table saw? Bare in mind, I already purchased the GRR-RIPPER 3D Pushblock when it was a slick deal based on safety recommendations. Thanks!

Blasphemy. You totally need all the ultra high precision gizmos for table saws, routers, etc made by this outfit.

Otherwise, you'd have to resort to learning how to make your own featherboards, fences, miter sleds, and whatnot. How antediluvian!

What is the Masterbuilder coupon?

Disregard - you have to type in MASTERBUILDER for it to work. Lowercase doesn't work.

I'd be interested in this, but even with the discount $200 seems a bit steep for what it is. I'd probably bite at $100.

Missed out on the deal the last time this hit $200 and I had to pay full price for it. Definitely worth the price if you regularly cut wood/plywood on your table saw. I bought it for a kitchen remodel I'm doing and it was invaluable to ensure the plywood/hardwood was staying against the fence while cutting with the table saw. Easily my best woodworking purchase of 2021 as it ensured my table saw cuts didn't drift off the fence.

Really want these for my new saw but even though it's a good deal, $200 is still a bit much to swallow for a specialty "nice to have" piece. We need a Chinese knockoff for $100 🤣

I'm an amateur when it comes to wood working, I've built tables, chairs, desks, bookcases, etc. I used to program cnc lathes, mills and punch presses in a job shop [wikipedia.org]. It makes me chuckle when I see the word "precision" associated with wood working. I wonder how a nanotechnology engineer feels about metal fabrication?

I plan to build a router table into the wing of a contractor table saw. I'm hoping to build something to attach to the table saw fence so it doubles as the router fence.

Is there any reason why I couldn't use this table saw version on a router table fence? It seems adjustable enough that I can line it up in the right spot.

EDIT: it looks like someone has done this. Is there any major sacrifice in adapting it?
