Can someone explain the Self-cleaning brush roll? how is hair not supposed to get stuck to that? I've never heard of something like that before.

Thanks OP, I need to get a cordless vacuum to replace my older Dyson upright, as I'm tired of lugging it around - it's very heavy but cost a small fortune at over $700 about 10 years ago.
Two dogs, a rowdy parrot and 2 kids on a mix of hardwood and carpet can get really messy really fast, so hoping this will do the trick and deep clean enough. The Dyson really does not deep clean carpet very well at all for what it costs - at least low pile carpet.

The price is great, just not so sure I wanna go the refurbished route.

Thoughts?

Here's how the groundbreaking Zero-M™ technology works:
  • Powerful Shark® suction pulls in debris and hair.
  • The bristle guard separates hair from the brushroll until an integrated comb actively removes the hair from the bristles.
  • Hair is sucked up into the dust cup, leaving the brushroll ready to deep-clean.
Shark® offers variety with new vacuum models equipped with Zero-M™ technology, including deep-cleaning upright vacuums and an ultra-light stick vacuum:
  • Shark® APEX® DuoClean® with Zero-M™ Powered Lift-Away® Upright Vacuum
  • Shark Navigator® Zero-M™ Lift-Away Speed™ Upright Vacuum
  • Shark® Rocket® Zero-M™ Ultra-Light Corded Stick Vacuum

Oh boy I just got the shark iz140 and it's amazing. Going from a hand vacuum to this for my one bedroom apartment was a game changer. I love vacuuming now it's like no more dirt on the floor when something is as easy and light weight to use. Can even get all the spider webs too. Happy customer here.

Sounds promising. I wonder how that actually translates when using the Vaccum.

The self cleaning brush roll is over good but not perfect. If you have long haired person's or animals you'll want to inspect the brush periodically. That said it works great.

Just fyi there vacuum batteries dont last for very long on a charge. On max power you can expect about 10-15 mins of runtime. It might not be long enough to clean a whole house worth of carpet. For me it is plenty since my space is small and all floors

I believe that there are little grooves that align on the brushes so when it rolls any hair that cycles through will essentially be forced into those grooves and cut from the movement of the brush. Like someone stated above, not perfect but does a pretty good job. I have this function on the shark robot vacuum.

I've owned this for a year or so and just cleaned the bottom part for the first time last night bc I got some stuck in there. I'm not sure how it works, but the agitator was clean of hair. Our Dyson cordless always had hair wound around it. The shark has an easy to remove panel that had some buildup but it was easy to clear.

My dyson died yesterday. It's my 2nd dyson. Both lasted less than 2 years. Pretty pathetic. So giving this a shot

Look up "Vacuum Wars" YouTube channel on Shark vacuum reviews. Generally it does pretty well with hair.
