This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Once you start couponing, a deep freezer is a must. I got mine for Mother's Day last year. Not a SD, but then again, I didn't pay for it laugh out loud I think the kids picked up a smallish 7 cu ft for 200 or so. It's perfect for us. Not very big but not too small either....Try Craigslist, sometimes people sell them for next to nothing.

Yeah, they had a couple on CL, but nothing reasonable, someone was selling a 5 cu ft here for like 190ish and it was 4+ yrs old. I was considering another at a garage sale for 50 bucks (it was 4-5 cu ft) but it looked pretty old, and I wasn't sure how "long" they last. I'll probably go garage shopping this weekend and see if I can find a freezer and pantry, ugh! laugh out loud In the enjoyable, hot, Orlando 97 degree Saturday weather, woohoo!

We bought a little 4 cu ft freezer used for 25.00 once. It was a Montgomery Ward brand (if that tells you how old it was). the thing is still running. It must be 30 years old. Freezers are pretty tough. Check some of the sales out in your area..

I'm too young to know when those came out, but 30 years old is oooold (heck, that freezer is older than me LMAO). I'll have to keep an eye out then for a freezer that just looks well-kept, since apparently, as long as they're handled well, they'll last. woot Appreciate it!

I wouldn't necessarily rule a freezer out that doesn't look well kept. My priorities were a frost free upright freezer this time around. My first freezer was a HUGE deep freeze that I bought for $75. The outside looked crappy. It had exterior rust but it ran like a new one. I sanded down the bad spots and bought white appliance spray paint at Home Depot. When we left the mainland the first time, I sold it for well more than I paid. It was a great freezer. I did learn that frost free was a must for me in the future and that a HUGE deep freeze was too much. Things on the bottom just never got used and it turned into never, never land down there.

I think Sneko got a good one off CL for about $150. It's the summer. Moving season for militaty families. It's a great time to score a used one. Smilie
