This thread is being created so people -- generally, those people who can't seem to resist talking about off-topic junk in the Target coupon thread -- have a place to talk about shopping at Target and other miscellaneous matters.

All you folks who hang out in the Target coupon thread, start hanging out here instead! When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! We'd love to hear about it, but NOT about your dog, your cat, your mom, your genital herpes, your... well, you get the idea.

Just stopping in for a second...I have a new to-do list for today. Matt just got laid off from the railroad Frown

His boss is super nice and a real family oriented man with young kids. He felt awful about having to let people go and he tried everything to keep him. He said it was one of the hardest things he had to do because they are actually friends. Nothing he could do, but he did give Matt some time (2 weeks) to find another job or apply for unemployment. He has 3 more people to let go...

I see your stories and my heart goes out to those of you laid off or with DH's laid off. It's one of those things that doesn't feel real until it happens to you.
Oh no. I hope he finds something else right away. So sorry to hear this. hug

He is a young 5 - turned 5 July 11th. So ank220, yes, we have considered that maybe he's not ready socially. Academically, he is 100% ready. So when the preschool teacher, pediatrician, and now the social worker at the new school tell me he is ready for kindergarten and we agree as his parents, we feel we made the right choice. They are learning colors this week...the social worker said on Friday he already knew all his colors and seemed a little bored like why am I here?

Daddy took him today and while he was apprehensive, he went in without a fight. I really think it has a lot to do with his separation anxiety issues with me. So we'll keep having Daddy take him for as long as is needed and then transition over to me. He even asked me to take him today and promised he wouldn't cry when I left, but as we know, kids can't be trusted! laugh out loud So I just Pray that it continues to get better. He is more like me than I ever realized.
mofome, so sorry to hear about the troubles with your lil guy! It breaks your heart when that happens. I went through similar issues with both of my kids when they started pre-school, so I know what you're going through (yes, even the tossing of furniture around the room w/ DD). All I can say is that it WILL get better...hopefully sooner rather than later. hug :hug hug

PS. Glad to hear it went better w/ daddy dropping him off.

Oh no! I am sorry! I hope you feel better ASAP! Have you tried lying on a heating pad so the heat can go up your ear canal? Might help? LMK if you need any more of those Scrubbing Bubble coupons printed ... I saw someone say that they were back up.
Thanks for the suggestion guys...My ears were really hurting yesterday, went to the doc and it is an ear infection...I am on antibiotics...

May I just say, SBH, that the lil' guy is one of the top ten cutest babies I think I have ever seen! He certainly ranks no higher than fourth, however...
Thanks, you. Smilie I certainly agree. . . though we might have to quibble over the rankings. . .

Technically they shouldn't be adjusting the MQ's. They are reimbursed face value plus 8 for the handling fee. That is fraud on their part when you think about it. When the coupons get to the clearing house they are all scanned on large belts. The computer is picking up what the coupon scans for, not what they write on it. The only coupons that have intervention are the coupons that don't scan and they are entered manually.
Meijer's system in our area adjusts MQs down to the price of the items. Mad I hope they're sending the MQs electronically or it's fraud otherwise... Nono2

Hey Mofo,

Even if he is just 5, I kind of think that he is bored. Learning colors? I hardly think my DS is a genius, but he certainly knows his colors. He will be starting K next year when he is 5 and that will be his first school experience and if they are just learning colors, we too will have problems.

Nikki, sending good prayers your way!

On a separate note....just found this post.
They sell these rum cakes at certain Publix's by us. Not all of them though.

There are 3 different flavors and they are sooo yummy. If you have even been to the Bahamas, these are straight from there.

Oops, I meant the 50 one. Thanks!

I'm wondering if any of you are still finding 4 packs of Vitamin Water at your stores? Mine used to carry them and today I tried to get some and they were gone. I also found some $1/4 packs of Vitamin water peelies at Kmart.
I really miss that Vitamin water BOGO. DH finished off my mountain of waters last week.
