When you've got something relevant to post about Target coupons, please post about it in the Target coupon thread! Oh and his first day of school was terrible!! Mofo I thought of you and your lil guy!!! My lil guy (this was after lunch) was handed an orange piece of paper (announcing the upcoming Open House) and the teacher said "This is VERY important make sure you take it home!" My lil guy thought it was the end of the day then so he took his piece of orange paper and walked out of the classroom (no one noticed) and all the way down the loooong straight hallway to the front door of the school - past the office, cafeteria, 15 different classrooms, 2 office doors, bathroom doors ... and OUT OF THE FRONT DOORS of the school. Then he went and sat on the curb waiting for his Mum to come and get him. He was there for a while when finally a janitor or someone saw him sitting there and asked what he was doing - he said he was waiting for his Mum and the guy told him to go back into the school and wait in the office. So he dutifully went back into the school but didn't know which was THE office - so he went off down a different hall looking for someone to ask where the office was - finally another teacher saw him and pointed him back to the main hallway & office. AT THIS POINT his teacher came up and asked him what he was doing - he replied going to the office as he was told to - the teacher asked why he was going to the office - he explained to wait for his Mum - she asked why - he told her to take the piece of orange paper home - she told him it wasn;t the end of the day and yelled at him and gave him a timeout for leaving the classroom! Excuse me - I know I am his Mum (read biased) HOWEVER - what the heck? Why did HE get a timeout for her inattention???? BAH! Looking forward to tomorrow I tell ya!
That is very scary and totally unacceptable.. I would definitely be complaining. They need to do a much better job with your child's safety!

Oh MY!!! I would be out of my mind if they did this with my child.. over at our kids schools they are super attentive... when dealing with with children they should pay enough attention to the children to know if the child is even gone for one minute... I am so sorry!!

Yeah that is what I think - I brought it up with my son's father and he told me not to make waves or say anything as it was the 1st day of school ..... so I have been fuming ever since. I think I am going to talk to the teacher politely about today - and if it ever happens again I am going to have words with the stupid Principal who already has issues with me so I can't make it worse! Herrrumph! LOL

that's very forgiving of you, but....at the very least she should apologize to him (in front of you) for punishing him when he did nothing wrong. Ranting

I totally agree. I understand the situation ended well, but what if it hadn't? I mean..yes he needs to learn to stay with his class, but she also needs to learn to keep him with his class.

This is what I would do..I would bring it up in a conversation to her like "Whew, what a scare yesterday" or something like that. Bring it up very innocently and see how she reacts. Then choose your course of action.

I'm thinking it's the free soft porn and opportunity to find out what everyone's wearing under their skirts... but that's just my best guess...

We don't shop there, but I do hate having any underthings rung up by a guy. Unfortunately, even in department stores, that can be somewhat unavoidable at times. Blush

Quote from Dec12Girl :
[snip]I went into the Gap once to get a sweater for my DD who wears xs and went up to the cashier who looked at the item and then at me (I can not shop at the Gap) and said "Is this for you?" to which I smiled and replied "Yes - I am planning on sewing up up one end of the sweater and wearing it as a hat." LOL

[snip]
However Reglan does make you hungry! LOL

The school stuff is NOT on sale - I went to T tonight to get b-day snack for my son to take .... MAN is that hard now ... no peanuts/tree nuts/no latex balloons ... so they are getting lollipops and fruit snacks ---- no cupcakes allowed Frown I did get one small set for us at home.

Oh and his first day of school was terrible!! Mofo I thought of you and your lil guy!!! LMAO @ Gap story! Wish I could think on my feet like that!

I was on Reglan for a while - I did not like it at all. I had very bad reactions to it. Frown The side effects are scary too!

Before you know it, you won't be able to bring lollipops and fruit snacks - either the HFC's, dyes, or sugar will be prohibited!

How old is your son? I'm assuming he's youngish... If he was older - 9/10, etc... I *might* understand the whole punishment - might. I'd be utterly fuming though. A teacher should know that there are kids who are very literal. Very literal - and will take what you say to mean that it should be done *right now*. Furthermore, HOW ON EARTH does a child leave a classroom and go unnoticed? I've only ever seen one school that had an open classroom plan - no doors on any of the rooms, etc... and that was my grade school. Every other school I've ever seen has doors. Even if they are standing open, it should be extremely obvious when a child leaves the room!

As for the wandering the halls unnoticed part - I'm thinking that may be more common than parents realize. No one expects intruders or weirdos or lost kids, so the halls just aren't patroled. Not an excuse, but a definite reality. You would think that there would be some awareness of children walking past doorways and SOMEONE would have enough sense to keep an eye on what the kid was doing. And how did he sit on the curb unnoticed for so long?

I would definitely demand an apology for the punishment and set them straight NOW. That was just ridiculous an uncalled for, and your son should be stood up for!

OMG I can't believe that happened! Wow, talk about inattention! I would definitely bring it up b/c no way should he be made to feel bad for that! Kids are very literal and he was just doing what he was told!

Day 2 of no problems at drop off (with Daddy doing drop off). knock on wood!
He got a certificate for good behavior yesterday, so I hope this is the upswing. He also said he played tag at recess and had fun. I think he is making friends, so that gives him something to look forward to.
The social worker did mention that the Tuesday after Labor Day is often a time of regression, so we'll make sure Daddy takes him then too and maybe start transitioning over to me, or both of us for awhile and then me.

I posted in the Deals thread but the large Glades are TPC for $4.49. The bogo Glade TQ from this month's InStyle (JLo on cover) is a fun one!
I want to know why only one style of the patio furniture covers is on clearance...the one I need is full price! Annoyed

Congrats on a successful day for DS. Smilie

Did the coupon require a supervisor approval or anything special? For some reason, I had it in my head that q's over 10.00 require some kind of intervention at T...

Does anyone have a scannable link to the quaker q that was posted in the deals thread (I think it was there) within the past day or two? We are out of oatmeal! Thanks!!

Good point, hadn't thought about that, but nope, no supervisor approval needed, I assume b/c it's a TQ not an MQ.

Ah... duh - TQ - missed that somehow. *sheesh* I'm in too much of a rush anymore, I guess.

It's probably old news because I tend to get these things late, but I got a vocal point mailer that had a sample of Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal, a coupon for a free box (01), and several 1.50 coupons. I like this stuff, but oldest DD can't eat it - she has a reaction to the soy. Frown

Well, talk about being inattentive. I gave the baby 2 markers and some paper to draw on while mommy works on typing up some school work for big sis. Then, I decided to get a refill on the coffee (need a good deal on that soon!!) I was gone for seconds!!! When I came back into the room, the baby looked like she was ready to play commando. She has orange and green splotches COVERING her WHOLE face. To top it all off, she even colored over the giant goose egg she got from smashing her head into the neighbor's stone steps yesterday - so I'm terrified to try to wash it off because I'm *sure* it's sore!

She looks up at me with this HUGE beaming smile and says while nodding, "I cuh-lore... Elno's priiitttyyy...."

(Elno is how she says her name)

shake head *Sigh*

QQUEEN - thank you thank you thank you thank you for sending me the q's!!!! I'm so tired of the tearpad desert here! I can't wait to find some!

ETA:

Who's shopping tomorrow? I'm trying to gear up today so I can do a ST/T run(s), and a bunch of Wags runs (rolling RR's, I hope!) Maybe we can all band together to send out windshield wishes and victory vibes. What are ya'll planning on getting? I really need regular groceries (milk, cereal, oatmeal, eggs, veggies, stuff for cheesecake) - so that's the ultimate goal on top of the rolling.

Oh! I forgot that I found Hallmark wrapping paper and bags marked 70 on clearance. The tags said Original price $1.00, 30% off for 70! That can't be right! But I bought a bunch! They had Star Wars, Speed Racer and Disney Princess paper and Baby Einstein and Wall-E bags. I think they also had HSM or something like that bags. I stocked up!
