Does anyone have any feedback on these white tunable ones vs the color ambience (and only using the white spectrum)? Does either one give a better range and do the white color ranges match between the white ambiance and the color ambiance?
My experience: the warmth adjustment of light is great, particularly in the bedroom and kitchen, or a reading lamp in the living room. I like having a "clean" neutral/daylight white in the kitchen while cooking, but changing it to a more relaxing warm while eating. The sunrise/sunset effect at bedtime is very nice. I think it was great for Philipps to make these available separately and at lower cost than the full color ones.
The color bulbs are fun at first, but the attraction fades and you start wondering how often do you want purple/red lights. Eventually, you just use them as accents on holidays, but there's not much point using them as main bulbs unless you live a cyberpunk lifestyle.
The "plain" soft white bulbs seem a bit "ordinary," but sometimes you don't want crazy lights. A dimmer is sometimes special enough, and my favorite things to do with any hue lights is turning them off from bed or on with my voice (or all off to save energy after 12:30pm). The "plain" soft white bulbs do all of this. I first got one for my porch light to greet me and light up the keyhole before I got inside, which was great, but I realized that would have been good enough in most fixtures.
So, I think the Ambiance lights make the best gift and starter set, the "plain" soft white lights are best for expanding your system and filling your house/apartment, and then the color lights are maybe just fun for entertaining in the game room or living room sometimes. The Zigbee mesh network is nice and strong, and since I have 12 bulbs spread around most of our house, the connection is more stable and wider than our WiFi, and I wouldn't want to be constantly trying to connect with Bluetooth (remote control from away from home is kinda nice).
It mentions that it supports Alexa, but no mention of Google Home? That seems odd to me. I just bought the White 2-Pack starter from BB for $45. Wondering if I should return for this kit, but I need Google support.
It says this in the description:
"Control lights with your voice
When connected to the Hue Bridge, you can pair your lights with Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and the Google Assistant and control your lights using just your voice. Simple voice commands let you turn your lights on and off, dim or brighten your lights, and even set a light scene."
There is a setting to change how the bulb reacts when power is restored. I think you should try to reset the hub again and if necessary, try swapping the hub. Also, check for other devices that could be controlling the hue lights. I've had issues with f.lux on my PC trying to control my hue lights.
I've got over 20 bulbs and they work really well outside of the once in a blue moon glitch.
Thanks. I'm aware of the reset state option in the app…didn't work. I've actually tried all the suggested solutions already. Both bulbs have the same issue and won't operate even from a physical switch.
Anybody get a ship date on these yet? I ordered 4 days ago and have no update, and Philips order status search just errors out. Just curious if these orders are getting fulfilled timely.

They are pretty bad at providing status, but you will get them. I think the last time I ordered from them they sent the email the day before it was scheduled to be delivered. It shipped several days earlier.
As others have said, these are white light LED bulbs only. I personally have all of mine default to warm white, because it's much easier on the eyes, so need the E26s for that extra spectrum.
Also, if you already have a hub and you are into selling things on eBay, Hue hubs are an easy flip (which could make this deal end game cost close to nothing, nothing, or even plus a small bit of cash if you're lucky).
