Just put this together. Very well built. Took about 90-mins with some breaks. Good directions, and all bags labeled very well. Comes with the riser, so although technically 3/4 size, but height is good in my opinion to play standing up. (I am 6'2" and have no complaints). I have several MAME machines (cocktail/Desktop), but none with trackball/spinner so this was a good addition for the trackball/spinner specific Atari games.

It does not seem to have any great hacks availible. There is no hack to add game unless you change out the whole computer system. No way to upgrade the spinner and not looking good (they said they were working on it 8 months ago). Luckily the spinner has been improved on this model, but it's still not a weighted spinner and doesn't coast much, making it hard to sweep kill monsters playing tempest.
There is a trackball upgrade availible, however the trackball is not perfect and some said the stock track ball is a better choice. The good news is people are saying the trackball is pretty good and better than before.
...
(EDIT: AJR214 pointed out Missile Command's 'center launcher' button is mapped to the 2nd player start button) original statement: I saw an upgrade for the start buttons. The original tempest (and centipede and some others) had 'volcano' buttons with lit red tips. It's an iconic atari look. Makes cabinet vibe much more ligit than the generic buttons it comes with. This upgrade doesn't help you play games better in any way.
...
I think the only upgrade I will do is get some leaf buttons, for at least the most used buttons.
The art is great, and I think having a tempist themed cabinet is more eclectic cabinet to have even on a budget model, perhaps especially because it's a budget model.
If I missed anyone tell me because I probably dont know it.

The volcano 1p/2p buttons wouldn't work because A1Up have Missile Command center launcher mapped to the 2p button. One of the reviewers was saying it was an awkward place to have it for right handed trackball users. Lefties got it made on that game with this cab.
I have been debating getting this since yesterday. It looks so good and I loved Tempest along with Crystal Castles and wife loves Centipede. That 17" screen though… and mounted for horizontal games is the undecided factor for me!

Glad you chimed in. I'll edit my post.
The screen is correct for most of the games but not the best ones (IMO): Tempest, centipede, millipede, and one other i think. I've read Tempest/centipede/millipede look better on wrong orientation, then if other way around. Most of the games would be not just wrong, but extra bad looking.
caveat: I do not know yet. I'm basing everything I said on the words of those I believe.
In youtube videos the tempest looks fine and playable. I hope it doesn't look worse in person as a surprise.
I'm sort of in the same boat, but I'll go up to Signals.
subdivisions…..in the high school halls!!!!!!
btw, i jumped on this deal…. im psyched, may not be perfect, but for sub-300 im sure it will be great! Tempest was my number 1 game to play in the arcade for a looong time!!!!
I might have considered buying this...if I didn't already own an original Tempest cab (with Rev. 1 romset which allows you to execute the digit score trick).
True, but "full" doesn't necessarily mean original size. "Full" is relative. They do make multiple machines and among them this is *their* full size. Read the specs, it's only 10 inches shorter than the original, and with the display angled up the display is actually about the same height if not higher.than the original.
I think he can get away with it. I've seen and had access to well over a thousand pinball macines in the last 15 years, and played hundreds. I've passed by many hundreds of 80s video games and play some.
I haven't seen an original tempest cabinet once.
That said, odds are the tempest he has is shabby and he should still be happy.

My Tempest cab (mainly the exterior) has definitely seen better days (I'm not the original owner) but it's still in pretty decent condition--i.e., I've seen worse ones in arcades back in the day--and it's still fully playable. Unlike many other aged arcade cabs, mine doesn't have any cigarette burns...

I suggest you add an alert on ebay and replace any parts yours has that are inadequate. The parts might seem a bit pricier than your comfort level (or not might be irrationally cheap).
Original tempest cabinate are only going to get rarer and more shotty looking. A decent one will probably be worth a fortune in 10+ years.

Riser included
Yet the title clearly states "full size"

I like Signals too, but the oppressed high school boy vibe isn't healthy to double down on, so the album weirds me out as I enjoy it.
Also, it's looking like songs should have been called AnalogMan and DigitalKid.
