Yes, he will use 500 points, but get 125 back when he redeems the code inside. I believe DVDs give 100 points, BDs/combo gives 125 and 4k ultra HD combo packs give 200 points. Not sure what the points levels are for movie tickets and buying digital.

Why??? These rewards are not "free" -- although they don't cost money, you do need to redeem credits (DMI points) that you've had to accumulate -- and most of these rewards are physical items.

Not so. The threads posted for the flurry of bonus point codes that DMI issued daily last month certainly belong in the Free Digital Goods forum, but the rewards (especially physical ones) that DMI points can be redeemed for don't belong there.

I've got 900 points which is enough for a decent list of items.. though I can't find anything I actually want. 500 points for a month of Disney+ would be good (and save me an actual $8) though it's only good for new subscribers.

There are some discs for 1000 or 1100 I might get if I had those points.

The nuiMOs are a really good deal. On shopDisney, the Mickey and Minnie plush are $19.99 each and the Cruella faux leather jacket/graphic shirt/pants outfit is $17.99, plus shipping. On DMI, the doll is 600 points and the outfit is 450 points. For comparison, the $10 Disney gift cards usually run 1,000 to 1,100 points. I almost always redeem for gift cards, but I've been wanting some of the nuiMOs items and the sale prices were too good to pass up.
