The difference is with how the 3 way is wired. I experienced this with the 72. If the remote switch is all hot, you need 77.

the location where the 77 will be needs neutral and that is the only additional wiring needed. the remote switch wiring remains same.

zooz is an excellent company. they answered support over weekend. When it was known I needed the 77, they said wait for the sale.

Great people make a great company.

What's the difference between the zen72 and zen77 dimmer switches...? They both require neutral wires, can't see any other difference.

Hey, checkout the Zooz Titan z-wave valve actuator. Looks way more beefy than the worthless Dome one that doesn't have enough power to close many valves. The cool thing is it has an external water sensor port in addition to z-wave (looks like a 3.5mm socket), so it closes the valve if that external water sensor registers a closed circuit. So if you don't have zwave, you can use something else to close that contact to mimic flood event. Maybe you have zigbee water sensors or 433MHz water sensors and use an SDR to pickup the flood event. Then you can command the ESP8266 to close the contacts.

Edit: Did some more googling. Seems to have enough power to turn quarter turn ball valves. I really like the flexibility. Many of the mechanically well-built options are wifi and use someone else's server and probably have poor integration. For $110, this Zooz Titan a good price and hits on features important for people who self-host. Not sure if it's supported by zwave2mqtt, which is my hub.

Agree with this post. The Dome actuator has a terrible mount with a flimsy set of pipe clamps that literally work lose after just a few open/close attempts. It's sitting on a shelf in my workshop until I can figure out what it can be used for other than valves. FWIW I went with a Phyn Plus via Costco (thankfully) and have already had to return one after about a year due to pressure sensor going out. I love the automation and water usage monitoring that Phyn offers but worry about longevity. The company support is also pretty terrible.

I have the Titan and use it with Smartthings. It works well with my quarter turn valve that was too stiff for the Dome, which I tried first. Super easy to install too. I use it's wet sensor as well as some additional z wave ones and everything works as expected to shut off the quarter turn valve when any sensors are wet. I paid $119 or $129 on a previous sale, for $109 this is a great price.

It says "NOTE: Aqara Hub required" on all the items I was interested in. Wouldn't a Z wave Zigbee hub like Ezlo atom work?

you're looking at Aqara Zigbee devices, not ZWave devices, a different animal entirely. even if your hub had a Zigbee radio in it, which it doesn't, the Aqara stuff can be wonky at best without their hub. Chinese companies tend to stick "loosely" we'll call it to the standards... Aqara stuff can really make your Zigbee mesh unhappy. I have several temperature/humidity sensors that aren't very reliable at all, SmartThings would power through and just keep them alive for the most part even if they didn't want to be, by pinging the hell out of them... I recently switched over to Hubitat, and it just doesn't have the same methodology. You can make the hub do it, but then you're eating up already limited resources.

Zooz is such a quality brand backed by the best service around. I'll say it on every Zooz post - they respond to questions/issues with quick, smart responses. I thought I had a defective unit (smart power strip) until they troubleshooted and asked for the model number of every device plugged in. They found that I was overloading the device with my TV. Took their advice to remove the TV from the power strip and everything worked fine. Their troubleshooting saved both of us time and money.
