I got this set at the start of pandemic so they were pretty expensive at the time $299, they held up pretty well and I still use it

Had this a long time ago, was a great starter for a home gym, held up well for the 5 years I had it before upgrading; for the majority of people this and a 300 or so pound weight set is all you will need.

Just an FYI that rack can't take much over 200lbs without getting a little scary. A few years back I set 250 down a little hard and it ate sh!t, so I bought a $$$ rogue rack. This would be decent for beginners or intermediate if you are not using the rack for squats.

Can you describe where the failure happened? Did it slip off the holders, did the holders break, did the rack tip over? Just want to know what to look for and/or see if there's a way to shore it up a little to prevent a failure like that. Sorry that happened to you!

It takes the 1" plates by default, and has an adapter sleeve that slips over it and will take the Olympic plates. From what I've seen, make sure to screw the adapter in adequately or it can pop up while lifting. This guy mentions it at the 2min mark https://youtu.be/eSwVStDgvzo - it's the gold's gym version but same thing, and the picture on Walmart shows it with the sleeve on. Good luck!
