I purchased a Z Fold4 last Feb. After about 90 days, it started having the "black screen issue" (later the internal screen stopped working). I brought it to a Samsung Experience Store for repair last week. Still waiting for the repair to be completed.
it turns out that even Z Fold5 has the same issue[reddit.com]. Just Google Search "Z Fold5 black screen" to learn more about it.
Also, Z Fold devices have low trade in values EXCEPT for another Z Fold device.

The Fold 2 was the moat robust one imho. I think when they added the ability to use pens with the screenx it made it more fragile. The 3 was terrible, 4 got better, 5 much better from what I have read on reddit. I turned away from the fold because after my phone got messed up, on mu second one I had some sort of range anxiety lol I would try to minimize the number of times I would open and close it, or just keep looking down the cress line to see of I see a micro crackline has appeared. So i would find myself using it folded most (that's a stressor for the inner screen, it's best to have it open most of the time but you risk damaging it in other ways). And I would gave to worry about the dust going under the inner screen protector and changing that. So i just switched over to the s 23 ultra. I still have a Fold 4 with messed up inner screen that the samsung warranty didn't honor repairing jt even though it was still under warranty and the sensors said no drop was detected. There was a very tiny dent on one corner, it was small enough that the local repairshop had to check the sensor to make sure it has been dropped and they said no fall is detected so you're good for warranty but then kater the factory voided my warranty and requested 500+ for repair.
But i still love fold ohones if they make them reliable l, that inner screeen is sucha perfect size in hand looks gorgeous
These always get black lines. Stop wasting your money

What does pixelation mean?
When some pixels on the screen are discolored, from their intended appearance. Like a stuck pixel. If you look at a blue page and have specks of pixels that aren't blue.
Man i would never go back to the fold series. My fold4 literally ate strings in my pocket for a year until it wouldnt open fully anymore when it was out of warrenty. It was 500+ to fix because u have to replace the hinge along with the screen together.
I love the concept and form factor though.
Until they start making high quality small Android tablets again these foldables are the next closest thing. I use mines full time unfolded on my desk stand as a tablet.
But I would never take it outside, imagine carrying something twice as thick and heavy as a phone in your pocket

No, the trade in value is 700 instead of 800. I mentioned the price of z fold 5 after trade-in in the post.
