The brushed version usually goes on sale for $99. This being the brushless version makes it well worth the extra $30. Sadly I'm waiting for the flexiclick/chameleon to get into their 12v line.

Nothing wrong with these. But if your looking to start out and build the M12 is the better ecosystem.

My $0.02...

Bosch makes nice stuff in their 12V line but in terms of number of tools available Milwaukee beats Bosch easily:

Bosch = 18x 12V tools
Milwaukee = +95x 12V tools

If you're thinking of adopting a 12V tool line you're best bang for the buck in terms of utility and cost is Milwaukee by a country mile vs. Bosch.

Forgive my ignorance, but isn't there already a 12v Chameleon? GSR12V-140FCB22

More torque. Longer run time. Unless you NEED the difference it's not worth the cost of changing. Love my brushed tool set $99. If a person doesn't have these yet I highly recommend them!

The difference is that these are small and light. It really makes a difference for small jobs, furniture assembly, things like that. I have a full set of 18v or corded drills and drivers but most of the time I just grab the Bosch.

Dang! Just found out LMGTFY no longer sarcastically types in a question automatically to show people how it's done that won't bother to do it for themselves. Embarrassment What's left for me, other than giving an exaggerated explanation of what I would like to have done.... Oh well.
Yes, brushless is better. If you don't know, you probably don't need it. I also have the $99 brushed motor kit and it's more than I need for home use and occasional small projects.

I bought the metabo hpt set, small as m12 fuel, more powerful, more precise on low gear control. That's the best impact driver I ever used, including all 12v tools.
Maybe dewalt DCF850 the atomic one can compete with the metabo hpt triple hammer, as far as convenience and light weight.

I have 12v Bosch tools. I love them, great quality, battery life etc. I've found I never bring my 20v tools out anymore. True,
Milwaukee offers more tools and I somewhat regret not getting into that ecosystem, but if you're not looking for a ton of different tools, this is a great quality set.

Fwiw, the 12v Bosch lights, dremel, oscillating saw, and right angle drill are also all excellent tools.
