Buy a TV, computer, major appliance or water heater and Costco extends the warranty coverage to 2 YEARS
Purchase with your Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi and extend your warranty* coverage for an additional 2 YEARS.
You need to do the math though, and show your work for credit.

Screen resolution, in-built speakers, Speed Test are way better on HP Envy. I'm going to return the Dell Inspiron.

Like Dell and HP which has better build, aluminum chassis?
There is some wrong info floating here in SD about the build quality, few thinking plastic silver chassis is aluminum but in reality it's not. And another plus for Apple since no confusion with their Mac line which all have aluminum chassis.

I felt like the HP had slightly better BQ for the following:
- Slightly heavier
- Brighter screen (but glossy and reflective which are negatives)
- One piece unibody (Dell is silver and gray two-tone)
-Less screen and keyboard bounce.
However, to me these were all MINOR compared to the following Dell advantages
- 16:10 screen
-Less reflective screen
-Gray keyboard with better contrast than HP.
To me the touchscreen and a slightly more solid feel are good points of the HP, but the Dell's lower price and other positives outweigh the negatives.
If the HP were cheaper, or a 2-in-1 I might have considered it. I don't feel like the value for the HP is there.
For the Dell, finding a 16:10 screen at this price with solid specs in all area is very rare.
I screwed up, though. Bough it with the business credit card and not the Costco Citi and will miss the 2nd year of warranty.
But is I feel it is worth spending a bit more and getting the Thinkpad 13S for $780.00
It has three (maybe 4) major advantages...
1. WGXGA screen
2. Ryzen 7 (HUGE advantage)
3. Windows Pro (not Home)
4. Aluminum Case (not sure if the Dell has an Aluminum case)
Are these things worth $180 and I say yes... totally worth it.
13.3" WQXGA (2560x1600) IPS 300nits Anti-glare, 100% sRGB, Dolby Vision
AMD Ryzen 7 5800U (8C/16T, 1.9/4.4GHz)
16GB Soldered LPDDR4x-4266
512GB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe 3.0x4 NVMe
Stereo speakers, 2W x2, Dolby Audio, Harman Speakers
720p Webcam with Privacy Shutter
Integrated 56Wh Battery
Power Adapter 65W USB-C (3-pin)
Backlit keyboard
Case Material: Aluminum
Weight 1.26 kg (2.78 lbs)
Windows 10 Pro 64
Wi-Fi 6 11ax, 2x2 + BT5.2
Standard Ports
1x USB 3.2 Gen 1
1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 (Always On)
1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (data transfer, Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort 1.4)
1x HDMI 2.0b
1x Headphone / microphone combo jack (3.5mm)
P/N: 20YA0012US
From what I can tell the negatives are...
1. Gloss, glared screen
2. Another point of failure
3. Fingerprints and smudges all over the screen (big pet peeve of mine)
4. Slower and more cumbersome than any mouse would ever be (maybe a trackpad would be more akin).
5. If it's sitting as a normal laptop on a desk or lap it would get tiresome to keep reaching up to the screen to do things.
What am I missing?

Correction: The one I bought and returned was the i7 version and Gen 2.

I agree that the keyboard is not great... it has short throw keys... trying to keep that super thin profile. If you wanted their premium model, it would be the ThinkPad's... but they are so damn expensive.
I have not used a mouse in forever

The best travel laptop is the Acer Swift X, it is 14" and it has gone as cheap as $900 (on December 21st). Ryzen 7 5800u, RTX 3050 Ti, 16GB of RAM, 14" Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS Widescreen LED-backlit 100% sRGB display with 300 nits brightness and 16:9 aspect ratio. At 3lbs.
What is funny is that our laptops are both 3rd gen (i5 and i7 but both have 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD harddrives).
I also feel the entire industry is making these soldered RAM on 13.3" laptops and the first company to make one without being soldered will make a killing. The last 13.3" laptop that had removable RAM I believe was the Alienware R3 (but that was CHUNKY...lol)
