This is with bestbuy, so no bill credit involved, it's instant trade in value that deducts from the sale price, and tax is on the deducted selling price too. Don't mislead others.

ATT is $100 cheaper further. $500 for mini and $600 for regular. But trade in values are horrible.

T-Mo is still the best in value overall.

Anyone else getting this message when checking eligibility?

" T-Mobile is telling us that Best Buy is not currently able to complete the transaction on this account. Please contact T-Mobile for additional details."
Some SDers from the previous 3 threads have reported multiple different errors when trying to order online for instore pickup. Some had success trying later in the day or another day, some used another phone line, others have success buying in person at BB, while some had no luck whatsoever. Just make sure you have the basics.

1) Post paid personal plan. No prepaid. No business.
2) The last 4 of the subscribers SSN.
3) Access to the phone line used for the upgrade (security text will be sent to the line)

When you pickup the phone, have your trade-in phone charged, wiped, reset, and on the "hello" screen. Inform the door greeter that you are there to pickup a cell phone. They may direct you to either the pickup desk or mobile desk (depends on the store and time). Inform the agent that you are there to trade-in AND pickup at the same time (they may assume you are there to pickup only). Agents know to click the little "i" button on the hello screen to get all the necessary information for the trade-in. No one reported what happens if you pickup without trading-in in your phone, but since best buy has your id, contact info, and CC, they have the means to bill you after.
This! Someone from their online order pickup will check your email bar code and iD, walk the new phone over to the check out counter to complete the trade jn. Out of the store in 5 minutes with a new SIM taped to the unopened box

$550 for Galaxy S11, but there is no option to select T-Mobile variant when trading in. Should I just say it's unlocked?

If you have tmobile service (almost all personal plans, no business plans), you can upgrade your phone at best buy and trade-in a phone from any carrier, regardless if the trade-in is active on your tmobile lines. So in your case, trade-in your wife's verizon iphone. The new iphone is yours with no contract IF and ONLY IF you choose the full payment option on best buy.

If you do not have tmobile service, you could signup for tmobile service at best buy (online or in person) and trade-in. However, better deals are available if you signup elsewhere, and upgrade at best buy the next day. For example, signup 2 lines through costco and get a $300 giftcard. https://slickdeals.net/f/15570151-costco-byod-get-300-for-adding-a-t-mobile-voice-line-stacks-with-new-2022-bogo-line-offer?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1

Tmobile plans have no contract.
If I have a rebate pending on a phone line at the Costco BYOD offer, will it impact that rebate if I upgrade that line using this sale?

Yes, all tradeins are processed in store.

Traded in an XR for an S21 last time. Seems like the S21 is worth $550 so only another $150 + tax to get the iPhone. Hmmm.

For Bestbuy trade-in.
I had old iphone SE (1st) which is locked by other carrier. But I used r-sim to unlock before.
Not only old phone is slow now and cannot be update OS.

Can I trade-in that locked phone for my t-mobile account to get a new phone w/o changing my t-mobile ONE (2 lines $100 all-in plan)?

when I check trade-in, it only shown up carrier - verizon, att, tmobile, which one I should choose? will Bestbuy will check IMEI or Unlocked status when I turn over old SE?

BTW, the full payment NEW phone, I just use it 40 days in my t-mobile, Tmobile will unlock for me, right?

Thanks

Best Buy doesn't care which carrier it's locked to as long as the phone is working order

Yes - they dont check faceid. just reset your phone and on the starup page click (i) to show them the IMEI when you trade in your phone. They dont spend time setting up the phone to check on the features.

Just select the carrier that the SE is locked to. If it's Total Wireless, select Verizon.

They checked the IMEI when I traded in my phone. I'm guessing this is just to see if the phone is blacklisted.
