This is with bestbuy, so no bill credit involved, it's instant trade in value that deducts from the sale price, and tax is on the deducted selling price too. Don't mislead others.

ATT is $100 cheaper further. $500 for mini and $600 for regular. But trade in values are horrible.

T-Mo is still the best in value overall.

When I am adding the phone in cart, BB lets me chose to create a new account and a new number. Will it work?

Does anyone know if this is limited to one trade-in per account? We've got an iPhone Xr and an iPhone SE (second generation) that we'd like to trade in.

Some SDers from the previous 3 threads have reported multiple different errors when trying to order online for instore pickup. Some had success trying later in the day or another day, some used another phone line, others have success buying in person at BB, while some had no luck whatsoever. Just make sure you have the basics.

1) Post paid personal plan. No prepaid. No business.
2) The last 4 of the subscribers SSN.
3) Access to the phone line used for the upgrade (security text will be sent to the line)
Roger that. In case it helps others: It was because my 12 mini was still on EIP/locked. After paying off and chatting with T-Mobile, it's unlocked and no longer hit this error.

Now I just get the same error re: try again later that others are getting. :/

Can you purchase without activation?
Usually they give the sealed iphone box to you.
Separate new sim card, that we are not required to activate. Infant that guy at best buy told me not to use the new card as they received complaints of it not getting activated.

You can activate that on ATT and later request for unlock or on T-mobile and speak to TForce for unlocking.

We can do the purchase online and enter trade info and just do store pickup?? Can anyone pickup or only the tmo account holder
Correct. The purchaser (not the tmo account holder) is the only one that needs to show up. They don't even do any account-level verification at the store. Just pulled up my order, checked over my trade-in and confirmed the condition, and gave me the new phone.

Thanks! Today is the last day that my order is returnable. The first rep refused to do a pm (saying mine is a trade-in offer...), but the second one was friendly enough to have the pm approved. Feel very luckyApplause
I had the same problem and today was my last return day. The first rep refused to honor the price match but 2rep issue the refund! Awesome with XR tradein deal too

For anyone getting the "We're sorry, there was an issue processing your request. Please try again later." error, I was able to determine for my account (Magento consumer plan) that because I had an Insider Hookup discount, their system disqualified me from purchasing via this offer with Best Buy.

To get around this, I used the phone number and account info for a good friend to complete the transaction for an upgrade. This did not affect his account in any way since I paid in full, nor did it prevent him from taking advantage of this offer himself using the same phone number. I picked up the new phone and turned in the trade-in, and told the person at BB that I did not want to activate the phone at that time. Came home, popped my sim card in, and the phone worked on my account with no issues.

So if you can't get past the error above, see if you have a friend on T-mobile that will let you use their info to get through the account validation step in the purchase flow.
Wow it was not like that before. I got 2 phones like couple of months ago. I had insider discount always.

If I have a rebate pending on a phone line at the Costco BYOD offer, will it impact that rebate if I upgrade that line using this sale?
No - Costco rebates were not impacted by these "upgrade" deals. This is the third or fourth time an SD thread has opened on this deal since last September

Yeah it wasn't universally the cause for everyone but something about my account (and I still can't do this - tried when this was posted). I also had them remove and re-add the other promos on my account to see if it fixed the issue, and that was the only one they couldn't remove and reapply. Just suggesting an alternative for those who get the error since in all the previous thread there wasn't a repeatable fix for that particular error.

We have to trade in the old phone immediately? What about transferring contents over from the old phone to new one?

How did you get $500? When I get an estimate online it only shows $300
