wait, you are saying that this iphone trade in deal is today only?
I chatted with BB rep earlier today to try and get past one of the multitude of errors I was getting in the process and she said it's going through the 30th.

I would like to know also if someone made this route in acquiring this deal.
I am on prepaid but want to ask a friend's tmobile account.

You don't even need to login into their account, nothing shows up on their account.
Just their last 4 of SSN, they will get a couple of SMS verifications.

Damn should I get for this? I bought 2 XRs from the TW deal. My SO's birthday is in June so is it worth to get it now? If I wait the XR tradein value probably drops.

She's on Verizon so I'll give it to her once it's unlocked

Best Buy sells iPhones under flex policy, so even though you "buy it under T-Mobile", it is technically unlocked, but will lock to the first SIM card you put in and be subject to that carrier's unlock policy. Hence you can give the phone immediately to your SO, and just have her insert her Verizon SIM card in.

When you add the phone to cart, make sure that you select the one-time payment. Then, on the next page, choose upgrade under the "Current T-Mobile Customers" section. Once you put in the trade-in details, it'll prompt you for your friend's phone number and last 4 of their social. They'll get a confirmation text with a code, and you just input it. So long as you initially chose one-time payment for the phone and chose upgrade, it won't add any lines to your friend's account; it won't add an EIP; and it won't add any other charges. When you checkout, you'll pay the retail price minus your trade-in value. Once you pick up the phone, Best Buy will include a SIM. Just toss that SIM away as it's probably tied to your friend's number. Swap your current SIM over to the new phone and you're done.

Do you hand over your trade-in device to BB at the time of picking up the new phone? I've never done the trade-in process before with BB and didn't know if I would need to make a backup prior or have a few days to mail it in at a later date.

Will they take a trade-in screen with a LCD bleed (black spot) in the corner? There's no crack in the glass

You have to turn it in when you pick up your new phone. So be sure you have a backup with everything you need.

No. The phone needs to be in working order with zero damage. A black spot on the screen would constitute damage.

You can buy now online and you have 1 week to pickup the phone.
Only while picking the phone you need to handover the old trade-in phone.
Take a back up before hand

Are people still able to use the AT&T sim trick to unlock the iPhones (meant for T-Mobile plan) purchased from Bestbuy? In this thread, some folks had problems with that method and ended up with their iPhones locked to AT&T.

I asked because the AT&T sim trick is still on pinned on page #1.

As per the description/wiki, T-Mobile should be unwilling to unlock this after 30 days of service? Is the reason that the phone is considered "paid off?"
