This is with bestbuy, so no bill credit involved, it's instant trade in value that deducts from the sale price, and tax is on the deducted selling price too. Don't mislead others.

ATT is $100 cheaper further. $500 for mini and $600 for regular. But trade in values are horrible.

T-Mo is still the best in value overall.

Hello SDers, I have a Tmo business acct. I have been excluded from BB deals in the past. However, today it seems to work. I mean that I can add the phone to the cart and check out. But this is the message I've received from BB. My trade in is IP122 Mini 128gb.

"These are the charges that will be added to your T-Mobile bill, plus any applicable taxes, fees or surcharges.
Apple - iPhone 13 mini 5G 128GB - Blue (T-Mobile)$5.84/mo.for 30 months with trade-in
$5.84/mo. for 30 months after $525.00 trade-in value ($325.00 trade-in allowance + $200.00 trade-in promotion); 0% APR."

This sounds like Tmo bus acct is eligible but with a contract of 30 mos. I'll only have to pay $11.59 for tax.

Me too! So I called Tmobile to see what's going on, and it's because I had issues w/ my previous Tmobile account. They're making me come to their store to get it resolved! Mad
Please let us know what happens if you go into the store for assistance. I am in the same boat as you with the persistent error messages.

Yea don't waste your time. Only thing I can think is unlock it???
It is unlocked but through T-Mobile. I'm sure that would still consider it technically a T-Mobile phone and deny it. Sucks. I just have to wait for the next deal. Thanks for letting the thread know. Definitely saved me some headaches today.

They don't care about the provider. I traded in one of the total wireless XR and they just checked off at&t.
Oh. Interesting.

Does anybody know if it will kick me out of my gUDP?

Thank You.

I want to try. But how could you transfer / back up your data in your old phone? Do I have to give them my old phone at the store at the time picking up new phone? I don't want to buy iCloud to back up my photos, videos.

If I am trading in iphone 12, it should be $50 + tax on $50 correct? Online it is showing $30 as tax on $50 phone. Any idea why? Even if this is adding tax on full price, it should be $42, not $30 as tax is 6% in MD.
Any idea what's wrong here?

Are you saying that the AT&T unlock portal doesn't work for BB iPhones from your recent personal experience, or because someone else said so? ssk4u2 said today it worked for them.
I am not sure how or if it's even YMMV. I did it 2 days ago when this deal was posted and now I am stuck with an ATT locked phone with no way to unlock. ATT service was useless and told me to contact BestBuy.

I might just have to eat the $45 restocking fee.

Yeah it should be $3 tax (6.5% in Florida) on $50 charge

Install iTunes on your Windows machine and do a device backup. Be warned it'll take awhile since iPhones are USB2, not 3.

Depends on the state. Some charge on the full amount of the phone, some charge on the discounted price. NY they only charge tax on the discounted price.

This gets even weirder because in store you might only be charged on the discounted price.

Different states have different tax laws. As ahmadh007 said, in Florida they charge sales tax on after trade-in price. I believe in California they charge tax at full price. Maybe MD changed tax laws in 2022?

This is what I am worried about. I have a T-Mobile S20 FE but T-Mobile is not listed as a carrier. Only At&t and Verizon.
DO NOT TRADE IN SAYING ITS UNLOCKED WHEN ITS LOCKED. There are DPs of full chargeback from Best Buy. You can say it's another carrier and that doesn't seem to be an issue but do not select unlocked.
