This is with bestbuy, so no bill credit involved, it's instant trade in value that deducts from the sale price, and tax is on the deducted selling price too. Don't mislead others.

ATT is $100 cheaper further. $500 for mini and $600 for regular. But trade in values are horrible.

T-Mo is still the best in value overall.

Thank you both for your responses, as I was not aware of the difference with the new R15 sim. I moved my SIM from my iPhone 12 mini to the iPhone 13, and activated/restored a backup through my PC, and that seems to work.

However, the SIM from my iPhone 12 mini, as well as my wife's iPhone 11, is not an R15 type (we've had these SIMs since the days of the iPhone 6S). With that said, my iPhone 12 mini did show the 5G symbol, which I just assumed meant all was well.

I was under the impression I could set these SIM cards up online, but when I log into my T-Mobile account (on my computer), select a phone, and then select "Change SIM," I'm forwarded to the "Contact Us" page. Am I missing something, or do I need to contact customer care (or T-Force) to complete this task?
Look here

https://www.t-mobile.com/support/.../sim-cards

Select Install or replace a SIM card
Select I upgraded or replaced a device
Click on Activate the sim card and it will take you to "Change or activate a SIM card / esim"

I believe what you did is correct too. Perhaps the system is under maintenance. T-Mobile does a lot of that

I want to trade in for the iphone 13 pro max. My 12 pro max has a cracked back. On the Bestbuy trade in, they only ask if the phone turn on and if the screen is cracked, nothing about the back. Anyone know if I can get the full $900 trade in value?

got you. So when you activated, it was immediately unlockable via the ATT portal? same day?did you ever check any GSX report for that, and the warranty / activation date showed when you did using the inactivated SIM?
The first several were immediately able to be unlocked via the portal, the last couple were not. If I pull the IMEI it shows activated and the warranty and all that, but the portal throws the "IMEI" unrecognized error.

ATT trick was best. Now easiest is to activate on TMobile and request Tforce. Provide bestbuy receipt showing the ESN and they will submit the request. If you are asked to wait 40 days, just find another rep.
I don't think the best buy confirmation/pick-up receipt shows the ESN

3 days is usually standard for T-Mobile if you look it up.
Got it. Thanks! I thought 5 mins was the latest. Smilie If that's the case, I'd just wait.

Thank you - I was actually looking at that website as well. I will give the T-Mobile website a shot tomorrow to see if I can do the SIM change online. Otherwise, I may just contact T-Force, as my experience has been they are far more knowledgeable than the customer service representatives that I have reached through 611, and even at the brick and mortar stores.

will be headed to best buy to pick up IP13 and IP13 mini, im just backing up wife IPSE2 and daughter's IP11. Taking forever to download pics from IPSE2, some 20gb of pics.
Did itune backup but not sure how that works (im on android).

would prefer to just transfer data from old IP to new one @ store but not sure how long that takes.

I may bring phone as is to store and see if they can just transfer and then wipe phone clean.

I read in post to bring it it completely reset and erased though.

anyone bring in phone and transfer data onsite to new phone and then erase?

also bought 3 IP11 from TW deal (250$), thought about trading in for IP13 but final cost is 700$ - 500$ = 200$ + tax and the 250$ i paid for IP11, works out to be about 500$. Not sure what the hoopla is all about, that's not a screaming deal. Unless Im not doing my math correctly.
Great deal to trade in the older IP11 and IPSE2 which were "free" from tmobile w bill credits from prior promo.

Think my kids will be more than happy w IP11 since they are using some old Moto X4 phone or something similar.

We done it before but in store Wi-Fi was absolutely slow as hell.

Happy to answer, I'm not a AT&T customer, but the portal was the easiest way to unlock of all the carriers, worked easily until recently. I was reselling and I know I was pushing limits, that being said it worked fine and no longer does. It would no longer be a method I would recommend and just trying save others the issues since at times it still seems to be suggested.
Were you able to unlock the iPhones that were locked to AT&T after the easy unlocking method stopped working?

I have one iPhone 13 that is locked to AT&T and every rep (5 so far via phone, twitter, and Facebook) I talked to say they can't unlock it because it's not an AT&T device.

Hi, will the below procedure work (or) has anyone tried this ?

1. Trade in XR to get Iphone 13 by creating a new TMO account (65/mo plan)
2. And not insert the TMO sim, instead insert Cricket Sim
3. Call TMO to cancel the service, get the refund ?
4. Unlock Iphone 13 on Cricket/ATT later ?

Ps: Im currently under Cricket Group plan.
I actually inserted the T-Mobile sim, but later chatted with a rep who unlocked it. I felt this is a safer approach.

I would be new to T-Mobile. As I understand the $20/mo Unlimited Talk & Text Plan, sign up is only available at a T-Mobile retail store.

What would be the process if I want to take advantage of the Best Buy deal for a 13 mini with an XR trade-in if I want to unlock the mini, use it on my current Verizon plan/Verizon # and cancel the $20 T-Mob plan?

Thank you in advance.
