Woot refurbished Sony A80J OLED 65 $1489 and 77 for $2199, 90 day warranty.
Not sure if I would buy a refurbished OLED without burn in warranty. Also not sure how easy is to return this back to Woot. 77" is OOS
As far as I can tell, Sony differs from LG in that you can't buy a refurb OLED TV with their regular warranty. Most you can get is a 90 day limited warranty from the retailer. Since there's no manufacturer warranty, Chase's warranty extension won't apply.
The only warranties you can buy to cover burn in are from Best Buy and CPS, though CPS doesn't sell that plan to consumers directly. So you can't get extended warranty covering burn-in for a TV from woot.
Only you can decide whether a much shorter warranty and a harder return is worth $500 in savings.
Woot used to have great bargains and good wine. This was before Amazon took over and pretty much ruined it. This tv shows only shows a 90 day warranty against defects. Big pass.
Does the "CJ" model designation mean it was originally sold by Costco?
Does the "CJ" model designation mean it was originally sold by Costco?
That is correct. These are $1999/$2899 at Costco right now, plus they have additional 4 years coverage. Wouldn't want to risk getting a burnt-in return and deal with the hassle of returns.
Anybody use https://upsie.com/faq before? They cover both burn and refurbished according to their documentation.
Their FAQ states:
Can I get coverage for my refurbished or used item?
Yes, you can purchase a warranty on most used/refurbished electronic devices as long as they come with at least a 30-day seller or manufacturer warranty and were purchased within the last 60 days (120 days for smartphones). We are currently only able to protect new televisions, fitness equipment, major appliances, and outdoor & tools electronics.
Originally I was interested on this, but to much hassle if there is an issue. Once you add in tax plus cost of extended warranty - I think your better off going direct with the Costco deal that bundles in the warrany and cash back with Costco card.
