I stayed here and it was ok I wouldn't recommend it. It's not all inclusive. They entered our room without telling us to restock the mini fridge after we checked in. The only good thing is it's not too far from the malecon. Other side of the street is kinda scetchy. They charge for covid tests, and have limited availability.

Hmmmm... sounds like you have never been to Puerto Vallarta. I've been there a number of times and felt very safe each time. Granted, don't go looking for trouble and stay on the tourist paths. Last time I was there was 4 years ago. In the past 2 years, I've been to Cancun 2x and felt safe there as well. When I say safe, I mean that I don't feel that my wife or now 10 y/o daughter were in any jeopardy. Comparing the 2, we were more sure of the safety in Puerto Vallarta than Cancun.

Both of these locations are tourist hot spots which brings money to the area... so it's beneficial to the town/gov to protect visitors. If they don't, they would lose their income.

When in Puerto Vallarta, we hit the market and walked around the town. The church was really nice too. We even met younger adults (20s) that went into the town and did the night bar scenes without issues.

All inclusive is like eating at Marie Calandars every day. You go to Mexico and eat all inclusive and miss all the outstanding authentic food, and PV is loaded with authentic food. This hotel in very nice, old, but well very kept. Excellent pool and gym

To be fair, the State Department also warns about places such as the U.K. and Germany, for example, both of which are arguably much safer than the U.S. Those are blanket warnings that are issued and don't always reflect what it's really like in that country.

My wife and I go to Mexico (specifically Tijuana) every other weekend for dinner and shopping. We drive in Mexico when we're there and have yet to encounter any problems other than the occasional language barrier. I'm not making a general statement about Mexico that it is safe, but the opposite is also not correct. If you're the kind of person that looks for trouble, I suggest you do a test run in certain parts of L.A. first before the adrenaline rush of visiting a tourist spot in Mexico.
I often wonder if other countries warn about the dangers of visiting the US because it is so dangerous here? ie Chicago shootings, etc.

Back to the deal, this is seems like a decent deal for this type of stay in PV. I've never stayed at this Sheraton Buganvilias before, but it gets pretty good reviews on tripadvisor. I'm heading back to PV in April, but renting a condo for that trip.

In Europe they do warn about the dangers of traveling to the U.S., specifically about gun violence and police brutality. I am a dual German-U.S. citizen and follow what's going on over there.

Great deal to spread the covid-19 to everywhere in Mexico
Because everyone knows Covid only travels North to South. Similar to restaurants where it does not transmit at a seated level.

I stayed at this Sheraton 2 years ago. I would recommend it. The hotel was older, but they spent a lot of money renovating. It looked really nice. The pool was awesome. The staff was super friendly. The hotel bar was hopping every night. Our room was actually pretty great with a balcony, ocean view, and new furniture, but we could definitely smell cigarettes coming through the vents. As another person said, the ocean out front sucks. Don't swim there. it's a rocky bottom with sealife that will cut your feet. You want to walk down the street and go the main beach in town, or even better, take a $10 Uber to mismaloya beach.

Pv felt really safe. It's not like other Mexican cities I've visited that felt shady like Tijuana and cozumel. We walked around pv with zero issues at night. The food is insanely good. The water is safe to drink from the tap. Uber was crazy cheap. I'd definitely do pv again.

These prices don't seem that slick for PV unless it's a super high end resort.. which it doesnt really sound like is the case. I've lived in PV and cancun, I can't say much about this particular hotel but the area is really amazing. If you are up for going out in tours or taking a rental to the area beaches that whole coastline is filled with just crazy beautiful locations. It's also super safe, very English friendly since it's built around tourism and retired or vacation homes for gringos. PV is probably the beast family friendly beach vacation spot. If you go, take a boat tour out to the islands.

Also re Covid: it is everywhere in Mexico and healthcare facilities are very limited. People there have a lot of distrust in their government and don't follow masking that well and vaccine access has been a mess. If you go, aren't careful and get sick, don't expect easy access to healthcare. PV has tons of hospitals and doctors.. but covid has swamped everything. The first waves of covids were because jerks from the US and Canada brought it to Mexico to party without masks, don't be like them.

I have been to Vallarta and pretty much all the hot tourist spots in Mexico. Been there. Done that. Gotta admit nothing beat their all inclusives. But I'd rather take family to carribean. Anyway good deal but we all value things differently I guess
Too much Fox News for this guy.

To be accurate, PV is safe and not on that warning. 90% of crime (especially homicides) are cartel members killing rival cartel members. I've been visiting Mexico for many years and never any problems. I never leave a bar alone at 1:00am drunk or look for drugs as that will set one up to be robbed or assaulted and that's common sense in Mexico, Belize, CR, or anywhere including the US. It's high season now and my favorite months are March-April or Nov-Dec. after the heavy influx of tourists are gone.
Ya but it takes one gang member to sit by you to potentially get shot by collateral damage

Apparently that original post you're replying to was removed or they deleted it, but that characterization of Puerto Vallarta is bananas. Clearly someone very sheltered and afraid of most places, I would guess.

Edit: test runs also possible in downtown Detroit, north of downtown Denver, SE Houston, parts of the Bronx, north Las Vegas, to just name a few

All these people getting their ignorance talk, there's so much talk about how much violence there is in Mexico and in reality I've never experienced any of it, and I get out of the tourist district, to the neighborhoods, and I experience nothing but people being very friendly and very polite and amazing food.
Yeah there's crime, but they are killing each other, cartels have confrontations and they kill each other.
You can get killed in the Us as well, there's a lot going on that we don't hear in the news, but local newspapers will have al that information, the government doesn't want you to live in fear in your own country, and yes they will tell you NOT to travel to Mexico or anywhere else in the world because they want you to spend your money here in the US and not miss out on that Tax money they wont get if you travel internationally.
I am just socked of how many people claim to be smart but in fact they are so dumb and still believe everything they hear on TV.
