Costco is cheaper (esp. since it's organic): 10 oz Organic Cinnamon for $3.79 - You get almost 2 containers for amazon's price which makes the second half a lot fresher.
FYI: This is Cassia "Chinese Cinnamon". which contains a toxin called coumarin.
"Cassia contains approximately 1% coumarin"

Honest question… how do you actually use this much cinnamon before it expires? This is like a lifetime supply of cinnamon for me.

This part... "Aged up to 15 years for rich flavor."

I guess you can freeze it, but is the expiration date a reality?

This. Ceylon cinnamon is considered a better cinnamon when it comes to that chemical anyway, and also has a milder taste that some may or may not prefer (I prefer it). I get mine at Whole Foods and it's about $4 for one of the small glass jars with the whole foods in house brand I forget the name of.

Always gets Ceylon cinnamon it's the one that's really healthy the other one is bad for you. Yes it sounds like a better deal and it is financially but not for your body and in the long run what's more important?

Quote from vin2000 :
Saigon cinnamon is a species of cassia cinnamon with a stronger flavor and aroma than other varieties. Though it's considered to be lower quality than Ceylon cinnamon, it's less expensive and easily found in grocery stores. While Cassia cinnamon is safe to eat in small to moderate amounts, eating too much may cause health problems because it contains high amounts of a compound called coumarin. Research has found that eating too much coumarin may harm your liver and increase the risk of cancer.

Most cinnamon sold in the US is cassia.

If you just do the tiny bit it doesn't make there much difference which kind do you use but most people that take it medically to help with type 2 diabetes by lowering blood sugar by having spoons full everyday makes it so you're having 250 times less the amount of coumarin in the cassia type. Ceylon has far less potential to cause harm when consumed regularly. At 1 to 6 Grams a day I find it a much more toxic way when using the casing types over the ceylon cinnamon

That's correct. More than on teaspoon of Cassia per day is a safe limit, but why would you want to poison your body anyhow?

So I'm a Costco member but I've never seen Cinnamon at my store. Is this that regional?

cinnamon has many uses, including medicinal ones.

We like to use it daily in our second breakfast / mid-morning snacks made with homemade yogurt and fresh fruits.
