ummm....what? Actually can really help with oily and/or acne-prone skin. Have been using it for years...paired with a generic 10% peroxide cleanser, have had great results.

I think this person is confusing witch hazel with alcohol.

Dermatologist recommended it to me. Well she suggested TN Dickensen, but a brand is a moot point these days.

Brand is most certainly NOT a moot point. TN Dickenson contains 14% alcohol, this contains zero alcohol. Alcohol drys out the skin, and putting it in a dermatological product is self defeating.

Anyway, Thayers is really good product to use as an aftershave. Witch Hazel is an astringent and helps reduce razor rash, without stinging.

Wasn't one of these brands also adding a new ingredient to cut cost a year or two ago that was loosely related to causing cancer? I swear there was an uproar about one of these.

This stuff followed by CeraVe moisturizer is the goods. Start with a raw shea soap for your face and you have a winning combo. Most people don't follow the basics of facial hygiene like not using the same washcloth or drying towel on your face that you used on the rest of your body, or forgetting to use a gentle non-toxic exfoliant once a week. The face needs specific care and everyone has different skin types but certain rules should apply for everyone.

Wait what? I've been using Rose Petal for years and the minute I don't use it, I start to break out.

I think it is this brand. I remember seeing Amazon reviews of people pointing out the replaced ingredient.

My husband uses witch hazel but the smell literally makes me gag. Does this have a pleasant smell?

It has a light, decent smell imo. I like the rose water one better for myself, but either smells good to me.
