I remember when the discounts were good and more items. Now since Covid, anything on sale is pretty much what the regular price was before covid. Excluding meat/seafood. Sad.

That's inflation. $100 today is the equivalent of $85 dollars 2 years ago (not exactly just an example).
Kinda like when your grandpa complains that gas was only 25 cents a gallon back in his day. You cannot really compare the same dollar amounts today vs before COVID as they are not equal.
That's why you better be getting a fat raise or switching jobs when the market is hot. If your salary is the same dollar amount it was 2 years ago, you are literally being paid less today. Sucks but that's the reality due to the massive inflation we experienced.
