I really hope sigma is successful with this. My sd14 still outperforms my R5 on landscapes

Thanks! That would've been well worth the drive to Oregon or even shipped with my state tax. Will definitely keep them in mind!

Yeah tracking can be a problem. L mount bodies doesn't have the best autofocus but I'm willing to give it a shot.
I'm not so advanced -- I meant even keeping the flying birds and departing airplanes in frame lol

They charged $20 shipping but not tax in my state (NC) which makes it even a sweeter deal. Very rare to find a vendor that doesn't charge tax for out of state buyers for online txns anymore.

Considering pulling the trigger on this. Seems like a love/hate kind of camera. Completely new to video but someone that likes to learn the ins and outs once I try it - seems like this could be a good option for that. Anyone want to talk me out of it?

an engineering miracle: a full frame camera that's smaller than the smallest MFT.
make you wonder what Olympus and pansonic could have done.
The Z Cam e1 is the smallest MFT camera, afaik. Although, I think DJI has a smaller camera on a drone with a MFT sensor. Just wanted to mention that.

This is most certainly a huge accomplishment, from an engineering perspective.

Anyone use this with adding on or non signa lens switch
Got this with a canon 24-105 using the sigma EF to L converter. IS is great going hand held.

I'm torn. I just got a used sigma FP with the kit lens for $1299. I use Sony FX 3 and 6 for work. Have a z90 and a6000 for personal. I've come to the conclusion that I'll have to use a Ninja 5 or Shinobi to help pulling manual focus. The peaking built in sucks and I don't want to lose the hdmi port or pay $700 for the eye piece.

Don't bother if you want any useable autofocus. Used it in webcam mode today for work and it simply wouldn't pull focus on my face at all.

If you're to video this could make you a great camera operator, or it might make you hate the hobby and quit. Depends on your threshold for pain and how serious you are about it.

I edit in Resolve so shooting in RAW for personal projects is my plan.

New firmware is out for these cams, would be cool to add the Sigma FP-L version to the stable if the deal comes back on that version!!
