Amazons got it for $27. That's the next cheapest I've found this. Good Deal.

It was $22.94 at amazon during a prior post (https://slickdeals.net/f/15560833-sabrent-usb-3-2-type-c-tool-free-enclosure-for-m-2-nvme-ssd-22-95 although that post no longer mentions amazon; that's where I got it during that time).

It was just $22.94 a few days ago and twice at that price in the last 3 months, on Amazon. Thanks OP for the post. I've set up a price track on the ccc for $23 so I can avoid Newegg. Not in a hurry and esp not in a hurry to give NE more revenue (or find myself in another customer svc nightmare).

Hella useful for backing up/extracting data from SSDs. Just a bit too big to be carried around comfortably tho

I was about to buy an external HDD. I guess this would be a smarter option. Would these work in it?

They should since the enclosure seems to support M-Key and all the three are M-Key. To identify you need to look at the smaller side next to the notch and check if there are 5 pins on SSD. The SSD you linked also state their key on the SSD if you look closely.

The other format would be B-Key which would have 6 pins on the smaller side.

Either you didnt put a m.2 ssd inside it or either the ssd is faulty or the enclosure is.

If your computer supports 10gbp/s or higher, you can pull faster read write speeds from a custom NVME enclosure. Also, if newer and faster NVME enclosures get released, then you can easily move out the nvme ssd and put it in the newer enclosure for even faster transfer speeds.

T5 and other ready to go external ssds do offer better protection because most of those are sealed. That's why some have a basic waterproof rating. The flipside to that is it's harder to remove the NVME SSD in those sealed ones, so you're kind of stuck with that specific enclosure. Also, most of those external SSDs are dramless, and in the world of SSDs, having DRAM with your NVME means better sustained speeds for those larger data transfers.

There are so limited options to buy things nowadays with limited number of stories if you don't support anything but Amazon you're going to hurt the community

I've covered Newegg ad nauseum, as have others. This isn't a simple one bad experience blacklisting...
