You need to upload copy of their SSN card and another form of ID at the end for verification.

I opened my teen son's youth account on Wednesday night and downloaded 2 ID for him. How long does the ID verification process take? He said he has not gotten account activation email yet. However, he has received a text saying "when you complete youth account, you will get $50 bonus" and also email confirming adding phone number to the account. He has not received any "activate account" link or "create account log in and password" email. We are so confused. When he clicks any links in the text or email, it takes him to log in screen, not create log in and password screen. What do we need to do to complete setting up his youth account? I can see I have created and linked the youth account under my Felidity account (but I can not add money into the youth account yet.)

Fidelity's system is by far the worst I've seen. Never had so much trouble just setting up a bank account online. All sorts of glitches and limitations. It's been more than 2 weeks, the account is finally active after multiple calls and chats, debit card finally came yesterday. But I still can't link my account to the kid's, because it's under a trust and I have to go to their physical branch. And the $50 bonus is still not there after all this time.

Oh, wow. That's a lot longer than I expected for youth account to be active. I thought, maybe in several business days. Did you get email when youth account became active or link in email "to activate youth account"?

For me the id verification only took 2-3 days but it was over a week from when I first set up the 2 accounts to when I could actually transfer money into the youth account to conduct a trade. But the $50 was deposited after a few days.

Did you get "your youth account is now active" email or "click the link to activate your youth account" email after submitting 2 ID? We haven't received that kind of email yet. I submitted ID last Wednesday night.

EDIT:
Today is Monday, 3 business days since I opened youth account. My son finally received an email from Felidity to create youth account log in. The email mentioned he will get $50 bonus soon. We will see if that's true.

Me too, opened for my child. It has been a month.
When my child downloaded the App, and logged on for the very first time which was about 3 weeks ago, it said will get $50 on the app. But we have not seen the $50 bonus.

Got it in about a week or less. Activate the account by accessing it from the app.

I want to update on my Fidelity youth account for my son. I opened his account on Wednesday night. He got email on Monday to activate his youth account. $50 bonus was deposited on Wednesday. It took only 1 week to receive $50 bonus in his youth account since I opened it. I sued his social security card and birth certificate as 2 ID requirement. However, I still am waiting to be able to transfer money into his youth account from my Fidelity account or my bank account. I see his youth account is linked to my Fidelity account but I don't havea choice to transfer money to his account yet.

UPDATE: Yesterday, I figured out I can only transfer money from my Fidelity account to youth account, not from my bank account to youth account directly. So, first, I had to fund money from bank account to Fidelity account, then, I could transfer the funds from Fidelity account to youth account. HTH

If you have a checking account you can also just write him a check… very easy to deposit on app.

I didn't think about writing him a check. I wrote a check yesterday and realized last time I wrote a check was more than one year ago. I stick with electric money transfer through bank, though. It's easy enough.

EDIT: I could finally transfer money to youth account. I added funds through my bank account to my Fidelity account on Saturday, and I have finally have an option to transfer the funds from my Fidelity account to youth account today (Wednesday). Hope this helps someone.

Same thing is happening to me. It's been over a month and I still can't add funds.

I could add fund, but I don't see the $50 bonus they promised. It has been more than a month.

Did you try to add funds to youth account directly through linked bank account in your Fidelity account? I found out first, I had to add funds to my Fidelity account from linked bank account, then transfer the funds to youth account from my Fidelity account after the funds cleared. It took about 3 business days to transfer money to youth account after I initiated bank transfer. I was not able to directly transfer money through my bank account to youth Fidelity account.
