Absolutely. In fact, it adds a slick but transparent layer to your windshield that repels water and smaller bugs, to a degree. It's kind of like Rain X in the sense that water and other debris runs right off your windshield when this is used in your windshield washer fluid reservoir.

Yes, that is exactly why I bought it. It doesn't protect below 20 f but it still works really well.
