For 1080p Video editing, especially if you're using Adobe based software, it will be fine as Adobe software loves the Intel QuickSync acceleration from the integrated intel iris Xe Graphics.

Seems to be a decent deal. Would this be good for an 11 year old with a go pro and basic video editing?

Looks pretty good to me.

https://www.crucial.com/compatibl...re-a515-54

It should be able to take 16 GB in the free slot. I don't see why it couldn't take a 32 GB stick for lulz but you would need to confirm that.

It can definitely take a 32gb stick, totaling 36gb. However, only 8GB (4GB soldered + 4GB portion of the installed Ram) will be running in Dual Channel which is still far better than single channel configuration but slightly slower than pure dual channel configuration and you will see the performance difference in GPU tasks mainly. CPU wise, there is not much of a difference between Pure dual channel vs Dual Channel Flex Mode.

The Ideapad says MAX memory of 8GB. Above comments suggest the aspire is upgradeable. Of course, it depends what you're looking for.
