Update on my experience: I installed this on Friday. For reference, I have Spectrum gig internet plan, 2 story home, main router upstairs, satellite downstairs, doing wireless backhaul.

1. Setup was crazy easy, by far the easiest I have experienced among Mesh routers like Asus and Orbi. I was up and running in about 5-10 minutes. No false starts or restarting from scratch needed to get it working out of the box.

2. Speeds were not as fast I expected, but definitely among the fastest I have tested. Using my iPhone 13 Pro, I was able to get a top speed in the 600-700s right next to the router at first, but would usually average 400-500s. Was never able to achieve higher than that. Speeds were really inconsistent so I would sometimes get as low as 200-300s right next to the router or around the house as well. Hard to tell if it was the router or my ISP. The deco app did not have an option to test the internet connection from the modem to the router.

3. Similar issue with the satellite unit. I have a PC connected via ethernet to the satellite. When first started up, I would reach close to the 1gig speeds, But then for some reason, later I would only get half of that usually around 400-500s directly connected. Same for my wifi devices connected to the satellite, but sometimes even lower at 200s. Not sure if this is due to the dynamic backhaul switching bands possibly?

4. Dealbreaker for me was that my nest cameras would constantly disconnect. Similar problem I had with the XT8s.

I was looking forward to this system, but for my experience and purposes, it did not work out for me. I hooked up my Arris Surfboard mAX AX6600 (2 pack), and everything just works again and will probably keep it. I have more stable, consistent, higher speeds (close 600-700s; further 300-400s) than that of what I was able to get out of the Deco with wireless backhaul. I think the available reviews online (i.e. dong) tested it out when it first came out a year ago and it did not exactly wow anyone. But my guess is that firmware updates have improved it alot since, and from my experience, its working awesome and you get similar speeds from both the router and satellite.

If you want to check it out, here is the link. Its on sale for $299.99 and I think the sale ends today. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/arri...d=6443774. Also on amazon for same price too.

I bought this so will update with my experience after receiving it. From past posts and reviews, seems to be one of the fastest mesh (and even among stand alone routers) that can take full advantage if you have gigabit internet plans.

I'm upgrading from an Orbi RBK53s which has been stable and reliable. Just wanted faster speeds.

I've tried the following using wireless backhaul:
1. Orbi 753: couldn't even to get it set up initially out of the box despite multiple restarts and factory resets; got frustrated and returned
2. Asus XT8 - I liked the speeds when it worked. Sometimes it would take multiple tries during setup for it to recognize the satellite. Big problem I had was with nest cameras constantly disconnecting. Tried factory resetting, binding IPs, turning off 160 mhz channel, separate guest network, but still had that problem.
3. Currently trying out the ARRIS SURFboard mAX Tri-band AX6600 2 pack (on sale at Bestbuy and Amazon). So far I have been pleasantly surprised. Nest cameras working as expected. Average speeds are higher and more consistent compared to my experience with the XT8. Negatives are that it comes with only 2 Ethernet ports and are placed under the unit so my cables are slightly bent (will probably get right angle cables). Also there is no web interface and no real customizations or tinkering that you can do. However, it just works right now and giving me faster and stable speeds.

I purchased both.

The ax5700 is clearly the faster unit. However, the range did not work well in my house at all.

Switched to the 3 pack 3600 and the range is impeccable. However, the speeds are lower on paper but there is no noticeable difference in my daily activities (streaming 4k video, work etc).

connecting and naming devices is simple and easy on the deco app. great gui. i believe this model however, can have a lesser total number of devices connected (something to consider as seemingly everything is connected to the net these days). GL

I had issues with my units. I used 3 units from two 2-Packs. They were all wired using Ethernet backhaul on 1Gig fiber up and down. Returned them last week. My specific issue was that it would constantly disconnect from my Nest Cams on a daily basis. I tried suggestions such as setting up the guest Network to only be 2.4Ghz and using that for the Nest devices. Unfortunately that did not fix the issue. Upgraded to latest firmware and still had issues. Ended up going the EERO PRO 6 route and haven't had any issues. I've only had this current setup for about a week.
Thanks for sharing. I had the same problems with Nest cameras disconnecting constantly with the XT8, but was hoping this would not be a problem with this Deco model. I'll still give it a shot and see if it works out.

I JUST bought the W6000 2 pack at Walmart from the other FP deal. Planning to pick these up to compare and see if they're worth ~2x the price. I'm thinking I'll keep this set just for the better range and future proofing since they have 3x3 MU MIMO and 160hz along with better antennas. I'll share my thoughts on the comparison when I get a few days with them.

Do you have the ability with these to select which devices can use the 5ghz network? Or does it automatically do it based on device range? Also, how would this compare to Google Wifi (the latest gen)? Obviously this is wifi 6 and tri-band vs wifi5 and dual band. Just wondering if it would be worth upgrading as I just got into VR using virtual desktop and the Google mesh doesn't seem to be cutting it

I haven't picked these up yet but my W6000's use the same app/interface. There isn't a way to set which devices use 2.4 vs 5ghz. I generally take the "let the router do the work" approach so I love having one SSID and letting the router decide. It seems to be doing this well so far. Again talking about the W6000 but should be very similar with X5700.

As far as comparing this to any dual band WiFi 5 setup, this is a big upgrade depending on your specific setup. If you're using a dual band mesh system wirelessly, you will see a HUGE improvement at your satellite unit with the wireless backhaul. Also, this is a 3x3 MU-MIMO router which basically means on modern devices, this will be wicked fast and efficient. The max throughput is also much higher. The biggest upgrades with WiFi 6 probably won't feel immediate though. The tech is built for accommodating large numbers of devices (up to 200 on the x5700) whereas most WiFi 5 routers are only built to handle 20-30.

If you have gigabit fiber or something similar, you should see a nice speed bump. If you're closer to 250-300Mbit, you may not notice much since your connection is the bottleneck.

Hope that helps!

I've had these probably 6 months from prior deal, Im happy with them. I don't have detailed specs but can say my son finally quit complaining about gaming lag on his PS4, my work computer connection/multi phones surfing stream solidly and my smart thermos, echos Plugs etc rarely drop. I was a little disappointed with range at first…but they seem to have adapted over time (their touted beamforming seems legit), so just be patient. I can get my Sonos basement amp/phone to talk consistently now from the kids backyard swing set to change porch speakers music, which is pretty far out. One unit is placed in unideal basement corner, other 2nd floor central hallway, 3800sqft house. I like the reports it's pushes to phone. It plays nice with an older hicuppy cable modem, need to upgrade that dog and I'll be golden.

Damn you Slickdeals. I have a Deco W6000 system ($123) that is serving me perfectly well with ethernet backhaul, but you tempt me with this great deal.

While some folks might appreciate the simplicity of the TP-Link software, I crave for more features and customizability. It's so dumb down it's ridiculous

W6000 supports 160 MHz as well, right?

Yes it does. Honestly the W6000 has been super solid. I replaced 3 ASUS Blue Cave WiFi 5 routers with 2 W6000s. The performance has been almost identical but a slight bit snappier overall which I attribute to the routers being more efficient, modern, faster processors, all the WiFi 6 stuff.

The biggest reason I'm considering the x5700 is because the range of the W6000s is just good enough but I still have a couple spots that where signal is on the weak side. Most of what I've read about the x5700/x90 says the range is really impressive. Also the W6000s don't really feel like much of an upgrade over my ASUS routers, I just couldn't pass up that sweet Walmart deal ($113 for a 2 pack) to move to WiFi 6.

I recently bought Netgear Orbi RBK752 and seen a great speed increase from the Google Nest Wifi which have been giving my issues over the pass 2 months with D/c and restarts. I finally got fed up with it. The RBK752 is AX4200 330$ versus the Deco AX5700 249 with discount seems like a great deal. I'll return the RBK752 and get Deco AX5700 with this deal.

I have the Linksys AX4200 (MX8400C from Costco) and bought this to replace it. I haven't set this up yet so I don't know how it compares, but while the Linksys started out well, the performance has gotten worse with firmware updates. The latest firmware requires a restart at least once a week, so I had to load an older version to it.
