No, it is much worse. I have the one at Walmart and it is okay. The one in the post is physically smaller and will have the plants smooshed together. If you can get the Walmart one for $50 grab it. My Walmart has 3 plant model for $40.

i think the only thing that changed is the controls, which i can' really comment on. LED wattage, pod count and max height are all the same. i think the older ones are better because they are wider too

don't expect results like they have pictured. one thing to be aware of is different plants have different germination periods. so i'd check on that when you set it up. i always staggered putting the pods in based on that.

i had an older one that i gifted to a friend after using it for a few seasons. ordering there pods had issues too, i'd get the wrong mix. you can also make your own by refilling their baskets with rock wool and seeds.

I bought one a few summers ago and Best Buy sent 2. They're not very fun if you live in a studio apartment because of the lights, but the plants still grow (just not as quickly) if you leave it on vacation mode where the lights only come on 8 hours per day.

Aerogardens (including the bounty) don't really provide enough lighting or space to grow things beyond herbs and leafy greens. For that, you're going to want to look into a DIY DWC or Dutch Bucket system.
