No, it is much worse. I have the one at Walmart and it is okay. The one in the post is physically smaller and will have the plants smooshed together. If you can get the Walmart one for $50 grab it. My Walmart has 3 plant model for $40.

For anyone who has an Aerogarden, can you comment about the quantity of herbs it produces. How long does it take to regenerate an herb when you use it? When I make a Thai dish, for example, I can use a ton of basil on a single dish.

Looks interesting but I wouldn't buy because of the height limitation. I have some basil plants and have grown other herbs that are all taller than 12 inches. Maybe some kinds of lettuce would work. Thyme also doesn't grow very tall.

No, but I used pieces of wood as a stand for the Aerogarden and then placed other plants all around the Aerogarden at different heights to take better advantage of the light.

You do have to trim and make your plants bush out. Only mistake we made with it was planting 6 tomato plants at one time and now have a crowded mess. The tomato plants at the 2 ends are the only ones really suffering though, they are too tall and not bushing out.
