Within the US, TextNow's SIM card -- when used with their Free Nationwide Talk & Text plan -- simply provides limited cellular data to allow TextNow's app to be used (in the US) when you're not within WiFi range.

Even within the US, if you take out TextNow's SIM card and just use WiFi, your current TextNow services would still work as they do today. Your current TextNow also still works if you sign in to the same TextNow account on other compatible devices connected using WiFi or cellular data.

Outside the US, you will need to either use WiFi or provide cellular data, swapping your international SIM card in for TextNow's if your device only has a single SIM card slot, to continue using TextNow as you've had been.

Question about these Textnow sim cards, if you don't use the service for a week or 2, does the phone number change?

Edit: brought this sim card for $1 and it compatible with my old Unlocked Moto G4 plus. Worst is that I lose a dollar.

I see what you're saying, but it seems that some services such as Discord won't accept Google Voice numbers. I'm not sure if they'll accept this either, but I think that's the sort of reason behind some of these esoteric phone services.

2) A lot of companies don't accept google voice number as valid number for registration/identification.
3) Google-allergy by some people? I don't get that but yeah some people go out of their way to avoid google and make their lives more difficult.

They say 2 weeks, but I have made it to a month without getting warning, but that's also with the app running on my iPad Pro simultaneously

if that is the case, you probably will have bad experience with this deal too.

because, how in the world can you get into any problems after paying $1 with a burner CC for +500MB.

at one point i had 13 FP sim cards. the only issue that I had was that one of the sims arrived 2-3 weeks late.

i am still using FP with the 1GB/moth @ 25 per year plan (using G-voice). ZERO issues . . .
