Why would anyone want to bottleneck their display to 1080p on a top end machine like this?
Sadly, as of now, only Alienware and MSI laptops are available with Alder Lake and RTX 3080 To and both of them, instead of using QHD panel at 165Hz or 240Hz, coming with 360Hz 1080p Panel. Hopefully, we will see the QHD panels when more will be available.
Not really if you see the price of current Alienware X series pricing. Alienware X15 and X17 series are their highest end Alienware lineup and never going to be cheap for the current generation. Even the R1 version with 11th Gen i7 and RTX 3080 costs almost similar to this one and comparing them with budget or less premium laptops like ROG G15, Gigabyte Aorus, Dell G15 etc. not going to be fair. Compare them with current gen highest speced Razer Blade 17 with i-7-11800H and RTX 3080 and you will that this one is actually cheaper.
Really nice logic. Price of a deal is based on what is the configuration and price compared to the similarly configured devices, isn't it? Let me know if you have anything less than 3 grands with these kind of specifications.
I'd be in on this if not for the lack of a QHD option simply because I'm tired of waiting. Yes, it's expensive, and yes it's more expensive than some other equivalent options, but I have an existing Dell Financial account for business and I've been waiting for nearly 4 years to upgrade. My Dell 8750H/1060maxq/4k60 is still an absolute workhorse but is showing its age.
What ticks me off to no end is dell not having ANYTHING in their lineup that has a high end cpu/gpu, high-refresh/rez screen AND a keypad. The Inspiron 16 Plus needs a big brother.
QHD165 or 4K120, unnerfed 3070ti/3080ti, DDR5, 12th gen and a numberpad with a 16/17 inch screen. Is that so hard, Dell? You haven't had a top spec desktop replacement with a numpad in years now.

Regarding your ask for 16 inch screen, you're not going to get that as unlike some of the other brands coming with 16:10 aspect ratio display in some models, Dell is going to stick with 16:9 aspect ratio for their gaming lineup and to be fair, for gaming, Wider aspect is better.
How's this compared to MacBook Pro 16" Laptop - Apple M1 Pro chip - 16GB Memory - 512GB SSD ?
Pure performance wise, it's better. But Mac has better quality display for creative workloads, superior battery life, lighter design and better performance on battery.
I got the Alienware m15 R6 Laptop: 15.6" FHD 360Hz G-Sync, i7-11800H, RTX 3070, 16GB DDR4, 1TB PCIe SSD, Mechanical Keyboard, Thunderbolt 4 for $1162 after cashback by using amex offer on 2 amexs of spend 800 get 200 back and splitting payments on them. Plus got another 10% off afterwards for delay in shipping. Is the new I7 alder lake that much better then tiger lake besides the 3070/3080 gpus?
